Yes, blanks do not mean complete misfire but score less than 10. But, that was complete choke by Rhythm. Even 1 score out of 5 in the last round would have given us a quota.

I hope our shooters have a mind coach, the way they are faltering at critical junctures.

Today is last chance for quota in mens 25M rapid fire. Vijayveer Siddhu is in third place after precision round, veteran Vijay Kumar in 28th place.

Right.. even Swapnil kusale has bungled his last shot with an 8 pointer otherwise he would have been in contention for Gold

Let's be clear here - this was a good showing from our shooters here.

We got 3 spots from the first global qualifying tournament. 3/48. We got 2 last time - Anjum and Apurvi - and I do not recall barely missing out on more (maybe Sameer remembers differently).

Bit shocking to see Pakistan get 2 spots from this tournament.

Rudrankksh Patil’s success story only bright spot in otherwise sedate year
The 10m air rifle exponent from Maharashtra conquered the field in Cairo to emerge world champion with the added bonus of an Olympic quota place, and has now emerged as a hot contender to emulate 2008 Beijing Olympics champion Abhinav Bindra’s feat in 2024 Paris Games.

Indian contingent is again performing and at top in medal standings with 2 Gold and 1 bronze at ISSF Cairo world cup. Indian shooters have time and again proved they can be at top of the world when nothing is at stake, in this world cup not even Olympic quota is at stake!

I have always wondered why they have an "n" in the name Rudranksh. Who started adding it to the word? There is no such word in Sanskrit. "aksha" is eye. So, rudra-aksh is "red eye" (and thus a name for Shiva). The bead used for rosaries is also called rudraksh, even if it is not really red. Anyway, where did this "n" come from, in the name?

But then again, if somebody can be called "Rhythem" (see above), which must be from the English word with an "e" added, then our champion can have a name than adds an "n" to a samkRtam word too. Why not? My name Jayakrishnan has an extra "i" that is not there in the samkRtam word either, so who am I to complain? :) ...

Just a Friday evening, so I am just relaxing and talking :Offtopic: nonsense.
