Good to see Manu bounce back.
Congratulations
4th at this class field is commendable,
She will improve for sure.

We have a quota and more importantly Manu and Saurabh can now be fielded in the mixed event

.1 separted from 3rd when she was eliminated....

So, we end this world cup with a total of 7 quotas. 1 more world cup to go and then the asian championships.
Pretty good world cup this one with 3 gold 2 fourth place and a fifth place. I wonder what exactly changed as the conditions looked quite favorable and almost all events had higher scores than last 2 world cups. And it actually suited our shooters more.

Now, we need that all important 2nd 25m Pistol quota
May be we can try Heena Sidhu at the next two events, with her experience who knows
Chinki Yadav hasn't done any well.

As far as 10m is concerned I think
Heena or Yasashwini will win one at the Asian Championship.
Infact Yasashwini was doing well today except for the last series (major problem with all our shooters) of 92.

Based on quota places earned in these tough WCs and extrapolating to the Olympics, I have an expected value of 1.9 individual medals for us in shooting.

And an expected value of 0.85 medals from the mixed team events.

So total EV = 2.75 medals.

Overall, certainly looking brighter in shooting than it did 4 years back at the same stage. Need Saurabh in form next year.

Based on the current form Apurvi and Saurabh would be favourites to win an Olympic medal.
With Rahi, Manu, Anjum and mixed teams having good chances.
Don't know what happens an year later.

Great character shown by Manu to come back from that heartbreak in 25M and win the quota in 10M. I am quite sure from now she will go from strength to strength and surprise us at Tokyo.

So, 7 quota confirmed for us. 2 shotgun world cup and 1 rifle/pistol world cup left for quotas and after that Asian championships.

I hope we get these quotas in these events-

Mens 10M Air rifle - Deepak Kumar or Ravi Kumar should get the second quota if not at next world cup surely at Asian championships.
Mens 3P- Hopefully Sanjeev Rajput or anyone else get at least 1 at Asian championships
Mens 25M pistol - Either Anish or Arpit Goel has a chance at Asian championships.
Womens 3P - Hopefully Sunidhi Chauhan or Gayathri Nityanandan get 1 at Asian championships.
Womens 10M- Heena or Yeshswni should get the second quota if not at next world cup surely at Asian championships.
Mens trap- Kynan Chenai should get the quota. He has been very close.

Probably Mairaj can get 1 in skeet or someone can get the second quota in trap.

But, I am hopeful, we will get around 12-14 quotas in individual events and would also mean we can get 2 teams each in rifle and pistol mixed team events. Also with Manu and Anjum getting doubles starters, we should have about 18-20 starting spots at Tokyo out of possible 30. This would be much more than 13-14 in Rio.

Ok, thanks. Yes, only 1 world cup in Lahti, Finland. Other one is shotgun world championships in Italy which strangely does not give quota places for Olympics. In any case, I am expecting at the most 2 quotas from shotgun. Shotgun was one of our stronger section a few years back. Sadly new talent has not come in as much there as in rifle/pistol.

We used to be stronger in Double trap which was sadly removed.

In mixed Air rifle team qualifications, looks like India 2 team of Apurvi and Deepak kumar will be easily in the quarters. Apurvi single handedly pulled the team to 2nd place in relay 1 with and amazing score of 316.1 and the combined team finished at 629.

Wow, this is such a rare achievement for india, to have Gold and Silver at the highest level in any sports.
Well done Apurvi, Deepak, Anjum and Dibuang.
Both our girls were on fire supported well by the boys.
It's so sad we can't field two teams at the Olympics, stupid rule
