Rest is meh (tried and tested failures).

Are there any 15-16 year olds who we haven't heard much of?
It is not at all meh though :p :p especially if you follow the scores of our national selection trails.
The sheer competition in it especially in 10m events is staggering.
For example take 10m Air pistol where we have 2 strong starwalts in saurabh and abhishek.
But in the previous 3 trials we have at least 8 shooters(8,9,8) shooting 580 or above. And saurabh participated only in the last 2 trails while abhishek none. Just for comparison rio Olympic games final cut off is 580 and the latest world Cup cut off is also 580. Though not as good as this the other 10m events are good too.

If we talk about 15-16 year olds may be Yash vardhan is the name for 10m Air rifle. He had his debut in the latest rio world Cup where he missed the finals by.0.2 and finished 9th.

Yes,let us hope Yash Vardhan clinches the quota this time. 10M Air rifle quota is a must for us from this championships.

Also another young one is Anish in 25M pistol. He has remained low key after a great start to the career a couple of years back. Hope he turns it around now.

Looks like Deepak kumar is the only one making the final. But may be all 3 Chinese will be there and with that he needs to in top 3 of the other 5.

It is really a mixed day for us with both rifle teams under performing. But Manu light up the day at the end with a gold and that too with a very good world class final score.

So, we now have full teams in 10M air rifle and air pistol - both men and women which means 8 spots and also means 2 teams each in mixed team events making it 12 spots for us which are our best for medals at Tokyo.

Today, it was bit of a disappointment in womens air rifle as only Elavenil made the final ( Apurvi and Anjum missing out) and finished 5th. Probably these girls were not motivated enough as they already had quotas. But no such problem for Manu Bhaker as he won gold with a score of 244.3 which would have won her gold at many of the world class events - last year's world championships gold went at 241.1. Should we move Manu one step ahead in our Tokyo medal projections to second level from third level ? Maybe wait for one more such performance before doing that.

3 events were at halfway mark today - in mens trap - Kynan Chenai in 3rd place, Manavjeet in 5th place and Prithivraj in 8th place - 3 quota places up for grab here- can we get at least one. In womens trap- Shreyasi Singh in 5th place - 3 quota places again- 1 Chinese above Shreyasi is quota ineligible.
In mens 25M rapid firepistol - Anish Bhanwala is in 6th place with 288 - here 4 quota places are available and there are 3 Chinese above Anish who are all quota inelgible. So, decent chance for Anish if he can keep up his performance.

So, today we have 3 events with 6 quotas available as we haven't won a single quota form any of these events. Shot gun events have yet to open it's account.

Shreyasi Singh will be in shoot-offs for 2 out of 5 eliminations into Final ? Kynan is at 2nd rank after 4 round with 97/100 and Manavjit at 95/100. Tondaiman completed at 117/125.

Disastrous from Anish in 25M. He needed a 95 in the last round of qualification to make the final and a certain quota as there are 4 quota places available in this event and he shot a terrible 90. ( 48 in first 50 and then only 42 in second series). And to rub it in Pakistan get a quota here. They have only 2 quotas for Tokyo and both are this event in which we have none.

Manvajeet and Thodaiman are out. Kynan Chenai only one in the final and he topped the qualification. 3 quotas available here. And 2 Kuwaitis are there and third one in shoot off and Kuwait can get only 1 quota as they already have one. So, 3 out 5 or even 4 competitors for quota. Hope Kynan can salvage something for us today.

He had to finish from among 3 of the 4 competitors in the final by Kynan finished 4th to miss out. :damn:

So, unless we get something in skeet, for the first time in many years we will be without a competitor in shotgun at the olympics. It was in shotgun that our glory in shooting at olympic started with Rathore in 2004. Then there were those like Manvajeet, Ronjan Sodhi etc. It is sad that just when our rifle and pistol shooters are doing so great, shotgun has regressed. Time to get it back on track but too late for this olympics.

Chinki Yadav won the 11th quota in 25m pistol (2nd one in this category), Rahi already won one quota in one of the world cups.
Our Juniors seem to be doing far better than their seniors in Trap as both Gold-Silver went to India in Trap Jr for Vivaan and Bhowneesh. So hopefully better days ahead for shotgun in 2024.

Good, work by Chinki but moat likely that this quota will get exchanged. Manu Bhaker is our second best shooter in thus event behind Rahi and so likely that she will double up in thus event along with 10M.

In that case this quota will go to either shotgun events or 50M rifle events.

Tejaswini Sawant goes in to the final of 50m 3pos and earns us a quota in the process. With Anjum most likely being the other the shooter we have full quota in qomen's rifle/pistol.

Yes unfortunately for Chinki, that is very likely to happen. But hopefully they will seriously deliberate and take expert advise on whether Manu focussing on multiple events with different range of 10m and 25m will jeopardize her 10m events where there is still high possibility of medals in individual and Mixed. Focusing on one range with multiple medal chances in my opinion is not bad at all, when i consider the possibility of her participating in all 3 events (25m, 10m and mixed) and return without medals.
