NOCs may enter a maximum of 2 teams (2 male and 2 female) in each Mixed Team event by using double starters.

Off-topic,
Pakistan wins their first quota, as Muhammad Khalil Akhtar won a quota after reaching the final of Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol.

Our shooter, Anish, finished on the 18th place.

Gold rush may well continue with mixed events today. It’s a pity we couldn’t get a single quota in shotgun events while we are moving towards full house in rifle & pistol events. In this context it’s sad to remember our first medal ever in shooting was in double trap a shot gun event, so we have regressed in shotgun category

And it does continue with India winning a gold and a bronze in mixed rifle team. ISSF has announced the olympic format for the mixed team and this is first WC in that format(they have been trying different format's till now), so a winning start is a good sign.

Apurvi Deepak with the gold with Anjum Divyansh getting the bronze. Really need Deepak or someone else to get a quota in 10m rifle to give us another medal chance in the mixed event.

Both our teams through to the finals of 10m air pistol mixed event ; so it’s going to be Gold and Silver to round up the event ..

I think they should pair Apurvi with Divyansh going forward and I agree we need that second Rifle quota place badly ..

depleter wrote: Thu May 30, 2019 12:10 pm Wow!!!!! Saurabh and Manu have just been excellent during the qualifying rounds and they are in the gold medal match next.
In qualification round 1, they scored 291+295 = 586 to finish at first while 2nd place is at 582 and 3rd further down at 580.
And in qualification 2 they went rampant to score 591 (294 for Manu(97+98+99) +297 for Saurabh (99+98+100) and finish first while 2nd is down at 583 while 3rd way below at 578.
Just for a perspective of those 2nd qualification scores
Manu score - 294 - WR at 587
Saurabh score -297 - WR at 594
A repeat of the previous WC qualification from Manu and Saurabh as they were way above others in Q2.
Manu 97+100 197
Saurabh 97+100 197
to get a combined score of 394 while India 2 has a score of 386.

So, Manu and Saurabh will be going for their 4th gold medal in as many WC's in mixed team this year.

My updated projections with shooting WCs done for the year; our expected value of medals from shooting has gone above 4 for the first time.

Would be disappointed if they do not medal
Saurabh Chaudhary (men's 10m air pistol)
Saurabh Chaudhary + Manu Bhaker (10m air pistol mixed team)
Divyansh Singh Panwar + one of Apurvi or Anjum (10m air rifle mixed team)

Likely medal contenders but would like to see a few more world class performances first
Abhishek Verma + Yashaswini (10m air pistol mixed team)
Apurvi Chandela (women's 10M air rifle)

Will be in contention / reach finals ( top 8)
Anjum Moudgil (women's 10m air rifle)
Abhishek Verma (men's 10m air pistol)
Manu Bhaker (women's 10m air pistol)
** 10m air rifle mixed team 2 (yet to qualify)

Could win a medal with some luck
Divyansh Singh Panwar (men's 10m air rifle)
Anjum Moudgil (women's 50m air rifle 3pos)
Yashaswini Singh (women's 10m air pistol)

Rational mind knows they are no-hopers but we will still hope
Rahi Sarnobat (women's 25m pistol)
Manu Bhaker (women's 25m pistol)

Manu looks very emotional again. Abhishek is shooting crazy good and Saurabh is slightly under-par and Manu looks very annoyed.

And Saurabh made some adjustments and started going 10.4+ and Yashaswini completely collapsed from a 15-9 lead.

Saurabh/Manu win a 4th gold in a row in mixed team 17-15 !

Saurabh is the most mentally strong Indian Olympic sport athlete I have ever seen. Really needs to win a gold and 2 medals next year in Tokyo.

If there was a men's doubles event, Saurabh + Abhishek would be an overwhelming favourite for gold. Both show very little nerves or emotion.

Saurabh also started putting pressure by going first and shooting those 10.6s and 10.7s

Yeah but that was after she needed to shoot what min 9 to win and ended up with 8.1 or something .. True Saurabh was below par till then but went few levels up post that ...
Abhishek always impresses me and will be a disappointment if either of Saurabh or Abhishek don’t win the 2020 Olympic Gold in 10m men air pistol..

Deswal's melt down is not uncommon though...
Deswal in Beijing WC
98 98 97 98 95 91 577 - 17x ...........Qualifying mark for the finals is 578
in munich WC
96 96 98 95 97 92 574 - 17x ......Qualifying mark was 578

So, she did rectify that in the singles here and won the WC but it showed up again here..
