That is an interesting article indeed. That means nobody has been dominant as such even from Korea winning medals thru multiple olympics. It is difficult and too random to win a medal at an olympics. We have had really only a couple of real outside contenders for a medal at an olympics- Deepika and Atanu.jayakris wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 4:59 am We need to make sure that Komalika gets her Gold at the next Olympics itself, because that is the most probable time for her to get one. Afterwards, pressure will hit her. Here is an interesting article to read - Why do archers win gold at their first Olympics?Since the modern archery competition began at the 1972 Olympics, 19 of the available 24 individual gold medals have been won by athletes appearing in their first Olympics.Eight different Korean women have claimed individual gold since 1984, with all eight having won at their first Olympics.
Going forward too it will not be easy for Komalika to win a medal in individuals. Our best chance is to have 3 good archers which will form a good team. In teams there is a decent chance of a medal. There are only 12 teams at an olympics of which 3 win medals which is at least about 15-20% chance once you qualify. Key is to get 3 good archers, we have always had 1 weak archer in the team.
