Needed Beta Testers

Post by Dhruv »

Hi all,

I want to start a group of Beta testers who would be willing to test out some new layouts we are currently looking at. The requirements and you need to answer each question are:

Have you ever visited the homepage of this site www.sports-india.com ?

Have you ever used the navigation menus on the front page?

Do you visit more than 3 sports sites on a weekly basis?

Please mention 3 websites that you think are well designed and we could use as possible models?

Do you have time over the next couple of months to test out various different layouts and leave feedback?

Thanks,

Dhruv

Yes obviousuly I've visited the home page of sports India.

I've used all the navigation menus

I visit a bunch of sports sites every day.

3 that I reall like the layout of are:

www.espn.com

www.nba.com

www.nfl.com

the layout and graphics on these sites are fantastic. yes i do have time to test different layouts etc. also i am really interested in helping to develop the site. I'd especially be interested in the areas of thinking of the layouts, as well as gathering information for the different sections, etc.

please let me know of exactly what i can do as i would love to do it!

All the Beta testers will be added to a list and should see a new subforum when they log-in. As subforum already exists I probably haven't gotten around to adding you yet give me some time.

If it has been over 48 hours then and only then bug me again.

Cheers

OK I only have three beta testers so far and as they can probably attest I haven't really been taxing them a whole lot. As I have been busy work has come to a standstill for the most part but I would appreciate a couple more signing up as it would give a good size to the team.

Also I have now set myself a deadline of October 1st for the rollout of the new site. One way or another the new version will be out on or before that date.

Thanks for your assistance.

Dhruv how are you designing a site? Using HTML coding or some software like VDeck?

HTML has gone the way of the dodo. I'll be using php and cgi with a MySQL DB behind it all. Maybe some flash and JS but not much as I have limited experience. The small stuff I can do with flat file (like the DC commentary with R_I) bt for more serious stuff using collabaration tech you need a DB IMHO. php is much better than HTML as it helps render dynamic instead of static pages. Nothing as exotic as jsp though.
