Re: forum milestone
Jay had crossed the 10,000 mark, but after Dhruv made changes in the forum the former is back in the 9,000+ range. Is Dhruv giving everyone another shot at guessing when Jay will cross the 10,000 mark?

Re: forum milestone
Jay is closing in on the 10,000 post mark. He had crossed the 10,000 mark last year and some members had devised a contest to see who could most accurately predict the day when he would cross the 10,000 mark. Dhruv took away some of his posts and his number dropped to about 9,000 posts.
We have another chance to predict when Jay will cross the 10,000 mark. He is at present at 9932 posts. I predict that Jay will post his 10,000th post on February 15, 2007 at 8:32:17 a.m. (California time).
(If I can rile him up about Leander Paes, he might do it by 4:01:59 p.m. today. )
Addendum:
Slow down, Jay. At the rate that you are posting, you will cross the 10,000 mark long before 8:32:17 a.m. of Feb 15, 2007. I may have to send you and Mrs Jay on a cruise if you keep posting at this rate so that I win this contest.
PS:
Damn, these cruise ships nowadays have wireless Internet access. May be, I should send Jay to the back alleys of Kerala. Man, what all I have to do to win a contest at Sports-India!

Re: forum milestone
Many forum members consider Sports-India to be a place where cricket is given a "lower" honor than tennis or other sports. Well, we broke the record of the most posts in one day and most of the posts were about cricket.
Old record - 143 posts on July 25, 2006 (US time zone)
New record - 156 posts on March 19, 2007 (US time zone)
I guess many of us are closet cricket fans and you can't take cricket out of Indians. Look at kujo, to prove that he is Indian, he has been posting in the cricket thread like a possessed man.

Re: forum milestone
Well, Sania is not playing, Harsh is not playing. That takes out the most popular two tennis players (posts-wise). SU, NU, RB, KR, PA, all off this week. Arjun Atwal is hiding somewhere. Football is dead. Hockey is dead.
What else can we talk about, except the Bug game and its buggy tiebreakers? .. But for an unbelieveably stupid item (NRR) that is part of the bug game, we probably wouldn't cross the record (despite the record-setting total and all).
Jay

Re: forum milestone
I would still like this forum to adhere to that view! "bug" sports should be given low priority and posts are to be made there, only if there are no other sporting events to discuss!!BSharma wrote: Many forum members consider Sports-India to be a place where cricket is given a "lower" honor than tennis or other sports. Man, when the 'INS/CIA' comes knocking, I got to spring to action and prove Indianess to them!!

Re: forum milestone
Well with Jaydeep reaching 10K milestone, it is time to revive this thread. Five years back when this thread started, a 100 post used tobe a milestone to be celebrated. Late 2006/early 2007 Jay became the first person to cross the 10,000 mark. Doctor and PKB followed Jay to join the 10K club. These three, as far as I know, have always been top 3. Then came Jaydeep and he became the most prolific contributor. No surprise that he becme the next member to join the 10K club.
So who is the next to join th 10K club?
Well Saandeep is clearly the next person who is set to become the next member as he is the only one beside top 4 to be in 5K club. Although with around 7.5 K he will still take a while, but he is way far ahead of next person gvhvhg who by the way, is about to hit 4K milestone!
Here are the top 15 contributors as of today.
jayakris 13306
PKBasu 12759
BSharma 10695
jaydeep 10015
Saandeep 7557
gvhvhg 3986
amr090 3952
Kumar 3908
ajay 3763
Dhruv 3413
puneets 3335
sameerph 3084
nkoth 2096
prasen9 2092
S_K_S 1821
We have now 23 memebers who have reached 1K mile stone. And over 100 memebers with 100 posts.
By the way I was the 10th member to hit the 100 posts milestone and I see that the position hasn't changed much as I'm now the 9th one in the ladder.

Re: forum milestone
In the admin section I used to be able to see a table by time logged on but that seems to have disappeared.
I am 12 days, 23 hours and 2 minutes and counting....scary!! Don't let the wife see that!
