BLM / Protests and looting / movement against racist monuments

Post by Sin Hombre »

Thought it would be good to have a thread about what has become on the biggest stories in 2020 in the Western world, and has kept evolving over the past month.

In particular interest for this board, the movement has evolved into bringing down of statues and memorials of slavers in both the US and across Western Europe in the past week.

This has also finally lead to discussion of Churchill and his role in the death of millions due to famine in Bengal.

Interested in the views of PKB and other history experts here.

There is no doubt that these guys (Churchil, etc.) were racists, and criminals.

In my township, I am working on some ordinance for police oversight, training, mental health professionals in the force, etc.

Racism has never really gone away, but with so many right wing leaders around the world, the scum (racists) have become emboldened.

In the UK, Churchill is revered by most (politicians, media and general public). Here's a prime example:

In Asia & Africa, we all know he was a racist piece of sh*t.
