Maharashtra continues to have bad areas. Some districts like Ahmedanegar coming back for the 3rd or 4th wave. Lack of testing, so every now and then new areas get bad and the districts will get back in. 15 of 75 districts in UP have bad growth at 3.5% but no cluster more than 400 cases. All cities except Prayagraj are fine now, thogh the Meerut/Muzaffarnagar/Shaharanpur area near Delhi is again having some growth, thanks to Delhi's second wave. Same thing across the border in Haryana and to the North in Uttarakhand too. That whole area needs some attention. But good to see Bihar, WB, Punjab, Assam, and Kerala all out of the list, hopefully for good.

No other contiguous areas in the states had a growth rate more than 50% above our national average today (2.186*1.50 = 3.280%) and 625+ new cases... The bad areas together had +14,919 cases to take their total to 321,487 cases at a bad area growth rate of 4.87%... The rest of the country had +69,237 cases to take their total to 3,611,637 at a good area growth rate of 1.95%. Today's good areas are where 91.8% of our current cases are.

Chhattisgarh is really raging to the north and south of Raipur. Nagpur with 1800+ today is in bad shape too. But then, what is not in bad shape in Maharashtra? The other concern is Kochi in Kerala, which seems to have finally got going with a +274. Hope they will douse the flame down there.

The bad areas were noticeably more today. That contiguous strip of 18 districts and 7500 cases along the Maharashtra border from the center of India (Nagpur) to the western coast (Sindhudurg) is the largest bad area we have seen so far! Will this state ever improve??? .... In fact, that strip connects to Belgavi in KAR and goes all the way down to Mysore for 28 districts and then to Kerala for 3 more districts around Kozhikode. And on the eastern side, The MAH strip connects to Rajnandgaon-Raipur-Mahasamund in CHG and then to Bargarh in ODI, to almost near the eastern coast in Jajpur. Basically a big contiguous strip of some 59 districts, and 15K cases that stretches from Kozhikode in Kerala to Jajpur in Odisha, through Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Chattisgarh!!

TN had about 7 districts in three small clusters but Coimbatore with a small drop today, left the list. There a few other small districts in UP with growth under 4.0% but no cluster more than 250 cases. And Tripura made a grand entry to the list today.

No other contiguous areas in the states had a growth rate more than 50% above our national average today (2.254*1.50 = 3.380%) and 625+ new cases... The bad areas together had +24,790 cases to take their total to 561,214 cases at a bad area growth rate of 4.62%... Almost 10K of today's 21.7K bad area cases are from Maharashtra. Friggin Nashik and Kolhapur come back for the 3rd or 4th time, but with 1600+ cases each this time. Will Maharashtra ever test and tell all the asymptomatic spreaders that they have the disease???... No, they won't. Waiting for herd immunity after 100K deaths. Again half the districts of Maharashtra are in three bad clusters. After 5 glorious months of letting 27K people die, the press/politicians/officials there keep sleeping soundly every night. What bullcrap is this?....

TN had only 4 districts with 100-150 cases each that were bad. There were 13 of 75 districts in UP with some growth under 4.0% but no cluster more than 350 cases. There is a cluster of 500+ cases around Jammu and 4 other isolated bad districts too, in J&K. Tripura has growth but was under +600 today. Jharkhand is testing well, and had no 600+ areas today, as Ranchi had only under +400.

Lots of bad clusters all over the country today, though KAR, UP, TN, BIH etc are all out of the list. Karnataka only had about 3 isolated districts with around 3.5% growth. TN also had only 4. About 18 of the 75 states in UP had growth just above 3.1% but only the northwest corner cluster around Meerut and Shahranpur is of any concern with more than 450 cases. Madhyapradesh has a whole bunch of districts with small numbers that add up to a big-area cluster, but with only about 700 cases with modest growth and only Jabalpur as a city in the vast area of the state..

Punjab has some 10/22 bad districts but in three clusters and the Amritsar cluster is the largest at around 500 cases. There are problems inn Punjab, looking at the death numbers. They are not catching cases, and the testing looks messed up, even if the positivity looks okay. Not testing in the right places?... The death numbers look bad in MP also (31 deaths). MP may be missing out on some cases too. There are some 17 of 52 districts in MP that show mild bad growth at 3.5 to 4.5% but the 13 district cluster around Jabalpur is only around 550 cases today. TN, WB, BIH, ASM etc are all out of the list. TN had only 1 district (Dharmapuri) with bad growth.

The situation in Chhattisgarh is very serious. Almost all districts have high growth between 5 and 7 percent, and the death numbers are rapidly rising (70 today!). They need to do something URGENTLY.

No other contiguous areas in the states had a growth rate more than 50% above our national average today (2.187*1.50 = 3.281%) and 600+ new cases... The bad areas together had +20,006 cases to take their total to 432,954 cases at a bad area growth rate of 4.84%... The rest of the country had +75,523 cases to take their total to 4,030,011 at a good area growth rate of 1.91%. Today's good areas are where 90.3% of our current cases are.

Basically it is pretty much a nation-wide growth at just under 2 percent, and the rise in case numbers is not dominated by the bad areas anymore. So, test well very everywhere and catch people early!
