Going through the posts, I saw how kiddish I was claiming fake marathon results.
I was 14 then guys and sorry for the discomfort caused.
I don't know what I was thinking at that time but yeah I remember how childishly i used to make my timings better and fake results.

Ajay, Thanks. I have not been running much this year. I do live in Chicago and I was planning to meet Suresh after the run and I will also be taking photos/videos when you guys cross my street. I live on Lakeshore Drive - guess that's mile 7 or 8.

Didn't know you were the friend that Suresh mentioned. I am so excited for Suresh Sir's maiden marathon.

Looking forward to it. Good luck for the race day!!!

I live right next next to mile 0 so hopefully I can come by and cheer some of you guys (if I can identify you guys).

Good luck Suresh and Ajay!!
Ajay, have been running with my group but haven't done another marathon after NYC. Just Philly and NYC for me for the time being. Doing a local HM on Oct 22. Been playing more tennis these days :).

Here's hoping one of you beats the beast's (Dinesh) record :)

I applied for London marathon lottery and the results came out today. Unfortunately not for me this time. But I registered for the Wisconsin Marathon 2018 today. Since I missed running a marathon this year (which was my goal - run one per year), I am planning to do one in the Spring and try lottery for NY 2018. Excited to be back thinking about running marathons. :D

For several years now, Ajay has been after me to run a FM. I am very happy to run my first one alongside Ajay. I have followed my training plan (Hal Higdon's Intermediate 2 plan) to a T and now only the race remains. Training in Chennai and running in Chicago, I hope, is a bonus as weather conditions will be better. Temperatures will be in the 50-70F range which for me is great.

Three 50+ year old Indian men, one of them sporting bib no. 7994, will be in Corral E of Wave 1 with a 7:30am start time. See you at the start.

@Gautam Thanks for your wishes. Going to be tough (impossible) for us to beat Dinesh's record 4h. I'd be happy with a 4:30 finish.

@Ayush Not to worry about your 14 year old self. Some day you will run a marathon and better appreciate the effort and training that goes into running one. At this point, I am not yet a marathoner.

Even I got a reject for the London marathon today. :(

Ayush, everything is already forgotten. Don't worry about it, you are like my son. May be you can actually start running. Earlier this year my son ran half marathon.

Thanks Gautam! Great that you are still doing HM. Well tennis is also fun and I miss it. My tennis got stopped with shoulder issue. So concentrating more on running. But I might comeback and play a tournament in Houston this January.

Thanks! If we don't see you, we'll just imagine that the loudest cheer is from you! :-)

Yeah we had a good run in Chicago. Conditions were moderate 58-80F during the race. For Venkat, Ajay and me, these were good conditions compared to our training conditions (tropical and humid). Here are the results: Venkat (not a member of Sports-India): 4:14, Ajay: 5:12 and I finished my maiden marathon in 4:15 (included a PB for HM in 1:55:41). Galen Rupp (USA) won the men's event in 2:09.
