@Ajay This is my second sub-2h marathon -- however the first one was last year, again at Auroville (1:58:30), was a total fluke.

@Ayush 4:11 for the FM (with a 2h negative split for the second half) is a very impressive. Congratulations. I can't even begin to think about running a full marathon -- the sheer amount of training that I would need is a bit overwhelming at this point in time.
Suresh you are being a great motivation for most of the youngsters by running regularly almost everyday in your campus and participating in commercial marathons :notworthy:

My Half Marathon Results at the Jio Indore Marathon are

Code: Select all

Split Name, Leg Time, Split Time, Dist Done
10K 00:54:28	00:54:28	6.24
Half	01:47:15	00:52:47	13.1
With this there is a bad news that my Home Marathon The Surat Night Half Marathon is postponed to 18 April as a Precaution to Swine Flu.

Congratulations Ayush. You now hold the fastest HM time for members in this forum better Dinesh's (bujilover) time. Looking at your splits, I think you can improve by another 5 minutes easily.

Ayush, Great job! That's awesome time! Keep it up.

Looking at all your races so far, you are always running second half better. Can you try to put more energy in first half itself? I'm saying this because, you will have enough reserve to still do 2nd half strong. How is your training schedule? I'm really excited about you. You are younger than my son and I'm also positive that you will improve further.
Cheers!

My only suggestion is to do the proper stretches before/after runs to prevent injuries. Don't ignore any pain (soreness is ok). Also focus on strengthening your core and your legs (quads, glutes etc). Hopefully, you are doing all that. Good luck! Anyone who can come close to matching Dinesh is the real deal in my books :)

Gautam , Bro I'm just a part time runner :p I have not praticed running and also dont usually put up any practice sessions for registered marathons and hence I'm a poor planner which I think cost me with few minutes in my results.

BTW I have not participated in any marathon since my 50K Trail run (September) owing to my work relocation .I'm also trying for a Spring intake admit for a Masters in US :D .So no aspirations for running as of now until i get this done.

It was great fun playing tennis and chess. The coach there was impressed and told that he will give me training at a very low rate after seeing my play.I think I will start training this year...and of Marathons and Half Marathons,I am still doing them.I ran a half marathon at Bhutan with a timing of 1:35:29.I practiced a lot and splits were sub 50.
