Saurav seems to be on the decline: he seems to have hit a plateau for awhile around the 15-20 ranking range, but is now slipping. Sad.

Saurav lived up to his seeding (2nd) to make the final of the Asian squash championship in Chennai last week; surprisingly, this was the first time an Asian had made the final of the Asian championship (I would've expected Saurav himself to have done it before...). But he lost in the final to the top seed (and world #17) Max Lee of Hong Kong, 11-5, 4-11, 8-11, 7-11.

Saurav hasn't quite got back to his best since his wedding in February (to Diya Pallikal, sister of Deepika, who was also runner-up in the Asian Squash championship this year!).

You mean first Indian male? Misha Grewal was a runner up in 1996.

On the women's side, it was a clean sweep in the finals. Chinappa defeated Pallikal.

(Thanks to Mr. Rajit Ghosh who posted all this in the Chinappa thread.)

That is a good win for Saurav. Hope he wins the title here. Did not realise he has fallen outside top 25 in the rankings.

Saurav failed to challenge in-form young Egyptian in this one-sided loss in the final ... This result was expected considering Abouelghar's performance in the previous matches.
