Dipika returned to competition after 4 years and after having twin babies 6 months back and had immediate success iin doubles as she won 2 gold medals at world doubles championships, mens doubles with Suarav Ghosal and womens doubles with Joshna Chinappa.

Dipika wins two gold medals at WSF World Doubles Championships

Not sure if this was the best world level competition but great for our players to have this success and particularly for Dipika.

Maybe now she can hope for medals at CWG and Asian games.

Yeah, great. I watched one of her matches here, she has put on a lot of weight and is unrecognizable to what she was earlier but racquet skills are still very much there. This would be probably her swansong since next CQG/Asian games are 3 years away.

She too from Kerala right ?

Yes, but that does not do anything to her sporting genes. :-) Maybe mental preparation wise it helps.

The main genetic challenge to them becoming great tennis players would be height! Saurav is a diminutive fellow, about 5'6" -- too short to succeed in today's professional tennis. I've known him since he was a kid (actually, my parents know him much better, since he lived in the same building; I would see him only intermittently when I visited Kolkata).
