Hi Fans,
I had a huge request off you guys, I am working on a project in school with the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency), on the awareness OF water consumption. I would request US homeowners only to please fill out a short survey for me. I require a huge number of responses, and my limited number of friends in the US is making it a little difficult for me to get a high number of responses.
Below is a brief description of the survey and the link :
This survey has been created by a group of NC State MBA students as part of a market research project. The aim of the survey is to gain a better understanding of the awareness and water consumptions habits of homeowners in the US. All answers will be kept confidential. It will take an estimated 10 minutes to complete this survey. Please give honest responses to all questions, and our group appreciates your time in taking the survey.

Can a former resident of the USA participate? If so, I qualify (as I was resident in the US for 7 years, including the last month as a "permanent" one...).
Congrats, Sanaa, for an innovative use of this forum. (Indian jugaar is what has made our economy remarkable, so this is in keeping with that spirit!). Meanwhile, could you please (if you find some time) post some comments here on your journey in college tennis, and whether you think you could have gained more if you had come to a US college at an earlier stage of your life/career.

Sanaa, I took the survey. I had to because I was in a similar situation with my marketing class during MBA not many years ago and I am a water conservation freak. Good luck.

Mr Basu,
You sure qualify to take the survey. Thanks a lot Jay, Cricketics and Athitee:) If you can pass it on to your friends it would be wonderful:) And Yes, I will write a blog or something about my experiences in college tennis and pros and cons in December while I am back home for vacation. End of semester craziness is keeping me busy for now.
Thanks
Sanaa

With your permission, Sanaa, I took the survey too. Nicely designed -- and also made me more appropriately aware/conscious of the need for more water conservation .
All the best with the rest of your MBA, and we look forward to reading about your experiences in college tennis (when you have time to pen them, during your December break).

After taking the survey, I too realized that I don't conserve water! Water on while shaving, long showers, dish washer running 3/4 full etc. My water company is crap. Thanks Sanaa!
Re: Sanaa Bhambri thread... (Joins the forum! Hooray!)
I took the thought provoking survey and it was timely. Conservation of water was mandatory as there was no power for 4 days, taking me back to making do with the minimum amount of water. No power, water, light, heat or sewer! Coming from India- no problem! Best for the future Sanaa.

Re: Sanaa Bhambri thread... (Joins the forum! Hooray!)
Sanaa, I can ask my 159 students in my course "introduction to civil engineering" at UC Irvine to go and take the survey. The only thing is that I fear it that would bias your survey, as they are typically not homeowners and their habits may be nontypical. If you have a way to separate out those responses somehow, to see how different young (18-20 year old) student responses would be from others, it might be useful. If so, let me know. If I tell them that I will ask a quiz question on water conservation based on that survey, I can get most of them to spend 10 minutes on it... What do you think?

Having designed, participated, and analyzed such surveys, I also worry about a regional bias. The habits of people in North Carolina may be very different than of those in California and the rest of the world. Collecting lots of data is good but one needs to make sure that the biases are accounted for. I am not sure what EPA's goal is for this survey. If it is to analyze entire US population, most surveys taken by US residents would be fine; if it is looking for a special project for North Carolina, it may not be.
P.S. I am a California resident.

Jay,
That would be great, we have a demographic question at the end so that would account for the teenage habits, also you would have to tell them to click on yes are you a home-owner question, because if they clicked no, the survey has been set up where it would kick them out to the end of the survey, so they need to be careful of that. Thats the only thing they need to be concerned about while taking it. But that would be of tremendous help. Also I will be conducting analysis on the SPSS software which does account for certain biases so that should not be a problem.
But thanks a ton.
Athitee : Its not just for North Carolina, its for the entire nation. There are people from various places who've taken the survey.
Thanks again though.
Regards
Sanaa
