Nothing deep -- it is a joke. 3M (like the company) sounds better than 2M and 1Z. Looks like the 3 of them are really good.PKBasu wrote: Still trying to figure out how Zeel is among Suresh's 3 M's...

I could go with Lil 2MZ or M2Z -- would make for a good hip hop name.suresh wrote:Nothing deep -- it is a joke. 3M (like the company) sounds better than 2M and 1Z. Looks like the 3 of them are really good.PKBasu wrote: Still trying to figure out how Zeel is among Suresh's 3 M's...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
And it is going to be an all Indian final .
At 29th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup (I) ITF Junior Tennis Championship (Grade 1)
[SF] (5) Zeel DESAI (IND,29) d. (13) Naho SATO (JPN,64) 76(5) 26 63
[SF] (9) Mahak JAIN (IND,53) d. Mihika YADAV (IND,105) 62 62
These 2 girls have been going from strength to strength. They played in each other in grade 2 juniors in Delhi in January, then in ITF $15K final in in Gwalior 2 weeks back and now a grade 1 final.
The last time 2 Indian girls reached a grade 1 final was back in 2003 when Sania Mirza and Tara Iyer met in a grade 1 final in Philipines with Sania winning.
Great to see that we are getting that level of talent again.

That Mahak is achieving all this at 15 must make her the most exciting talent we've ever had. I hope she is well looked after.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Yes, Pranjala won the grade 1 title in Thailand when she was few days short of her 16th birthday. Mahak is 3 months short of her 16th birthday now.
Karman won a grade 1 title in 2015 on European clay when she was few days short of 17th birthday/
Pranjala seems to be injured or something as she has played only 1 tournament in last 4 months.
Anyway, this group of Karman, Pranjala, Zeel,Mahak and Mihika seems the most promising lot among our women players after the batch of Sania, Ankita, Sanna, Tara etc. which emerged more than 10 years back. Unfortunately, only Sania among that group turned out to be a world class players. Hopefully, more from this group will achieve that.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
My money's on Zeel Desai as the top-100 player from this group. Would be thrilled if more of them gets there...
For the talented junior Indians, progressive success isn't a given as a lot of that success comes from hard professional work on tennis skills and physical fitness to further develop the talent that they are clearly showing. Many of the Indians don't train professionally on either aspect and even fewer on the physical fitness aspects...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
zeel and pranjala are the prime candidates for our answer for the top 100 WTA since both has an allround game without major weakness but both need to improve their movement.as far as karman is considered she needs to fix her backhand if she does that she will be a gun player. has anyone seen how mahak plays?

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Zeel won the final easily.
At 29th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup (I) ITF Junior Tennis Championship (Grade 1)
[F] (5) Zeel DESAI (IND,29) d. (9) Mahak JAIN (IND,53) 63 62
Zeel has been on absolute tear on the junior and pro citcuit in last 6-7 months. She started with a grade 3 title In Zimbabwe last August, then had 2 grade 2 titles in Thailand and Hongkong in October/November, started this year with a grade 2 final in Delhi ( losing to Mahak in the finak), then AO juniors QF and now this grade 1 title.
In the meantime, she also reached an ITF womens final in Egypt, SF in Solapur and than her first pro title in Gwalior.
With these points, Zeel will be near top 20 in the ITF junior rankings and Mahak will be in top 40.

I think Pranjala needs to improve her serve, it looked pretty weak to me last time she played at AO jr.Abish arul wrote:zeel and pranjala are the prime candidates for our answer for the top 100 WTA since both has an allround game without major weakness but both need to improve their movement.
