You had to go and say that, right? He has been a total disaster for us ever since your recommendation :D
I think it was a combination of a miserable grass singles season (which ended his hopes of making new career highs by playing a full season on his favourite surface) and serendipity at Rio (after the Bryans chose to skip the Olympics) that led him to discover his inner MxD genius. Wish I hadn't written that in retrospect -- although I'm sure Rajeev and his entourage know nothing about our forum :p

ATP has just tweeted that Rajeev has made it to the World Tour Finals with Raven Klaasen.

Well done Rajeev

Congratulations to Rajeev, who has qualified for the year-end ATP championship for the first time in his career.

I remember chatting to him at Wimbledon once and he said he was aware of the site. Could be that he was just being polite.

He has had his best year in doubles, and belatedly discovered his MxD abilities (going straight to an Olympic silver medal). But his singles career fizzled out, after he had a really poor grass season (surprisingly). Now ranked 111 in singles, having missed a great chance to move up toward 50 during that grass season. (Running into Dustin Brown early upended the grass season for him...).

Ram/Klaasen have comfortably defeated the Lopez duo in what was a virtual quarterfinal today. They play Murray/Soares in the semis. It will be good if they can make it to the finals on debut!

Rajeev Ram and Raven Klaasen won the doubles title at Indian Wells (celebrating the win on Rajeev's 33rd birthday on 18th March), having also won in Delray Beach earlier. Rajeev is now at a career-high of 11 in the individual doubles rankings.

But Rajeev has slumped to 184 in singles.
