Re: Nishesh Basvareddy thread
On Nishesh vs Sumit, I think Nishesh will win today. He is just too good, he is playing at a Top 50 level (in my opinion). He lacks experience being 19. He will gain that with time. Sumit is probably at his career peak, he may not get too much better.
Nishesh has an edge in UTR also, about 0.3 higher.

Re: Nishesh Basvareddy thread
NB wins S1 against the defending champ!
While serving at 5-4, he was down 0-40. Then rattled off 5 points in a row to win. Dude has mental strength which is critical!
I can't for him to win his first ATP title.

Re: Nishesh Basvareddy thread
1 set all.,
Nishesh got back from the locker room and the ref pulled him up for being late or something and another argument.
1 time violation warning. I notice that he puts himself into situations where he gets into trouble. I hope this isn't a pattern.
Cmon Nishesh!

Re: Nishesh Basvareddy thread
That is a stunning win over #23 Tabilo who was the defending champion.
Likely QF opponent is Michelson who he lost to the Next Gen Final round robin 1-3 (in short sets; 12-14 in games). So, hopefully he can reverse that result here (i.e., if Michelson wins his R-16 matchup where is up a set). If he wins another round, he will be on the brink of the top 100 while having played half a season....

Guy is living up to his name.
If you do a sandhi bicched (or vicched), it is "ni" + "sesh". Sesh means remainder/remaining or what is at the end in Bangla (assuming similar in Sanskrit). Ni - is not. So, someone that has "no end" (to what he can do/achieve) - which put together means "perfect" or "complete".
"Basava" means bull/strong/powerful coming from the word "basu/vasu" aka Nandi bull of Shiva (so maybe if we go really 700-1000 years maybe he and the other basu PKB are related?) Specifically, uncastrated ox. I am very sure (nothing is 100% guaranteed in this world) he is uncastrated and I hope he gets as strong as an ox on the field.
"Reddy" means leader. That may be for after his tennis career. But, on the field he can lead the players by ranking too.
All you have to do is live up to your name, Nishesh Basavareddy (English Translation: Mr. Perfect Strong Leader). Easy-peasy.
