Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Yeah, I don't know why they have still not removed that 1 week delay thing in the era when live scores are available for all ITF tournaments and live streams for some of them.
Anyway, looks like Karman will get 4-5 weeks rest now ( or time for at least some off season training). I guess she will return for W40 tournaments in India in mid January unless she feels she is ready to return for similar level events in Thailand in the first week of January.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Karman is in the qualifying entry list at the Thailand WTA 250 tournament starting this weekend. Ankita would have made it in as well had she entered singles but she’s currently due to make an on-site entry in doubles with Dalila Jakupovic.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Karman is not in the qualifying draw for Hua Hin. Maybe could not make it to Thailand on time after her QF against Ankita in Pune yesterday.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
May be it would have been too much of a hassle. Given Karman's form, she should play more of these challenger type tournaments. I liked what i saw in Chennai. But clearly she has good days and bad. Last few weeks have not been great.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Karman pulled out of this week's W25 in Bangalore. I was wondering if it is an injury. But, she is still in entry list of W40 at Bangalore next week and is also in the entry list of W60 in Pretoria, South Africa the week after. So, quite possible that she pulled out from lower level tournament this week due to that.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
^^^ Unless there is an injury involved, that logic doesn’t make sense since she last played in January and hasn’t played more than 6 matches this year.
P.S It’s also possible she will play in Indonesia (2 back to back W25 scheduled) the week after Pretoria.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Karman has now pulled out of all the tournaments in next few weeks it seems. So, looks like some injury stuck again.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Well as of now Karman is in the entry list for W60 in Oeiras, Portugal next week on clay. She is also in the qualifying entry list of W60 in Prague also on clay the week after.
Interesting that she chose clay for her comeback from injury considering that she has been better on faster surfaces. Is it because clay is better on body while coming back from injury ?
Lets hope she does not pull out like she has done in the past.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
She posted a video on her social media saying “gearing up”. Seems like she’s finally ready to make another comeback. I hope she stays healthy and competes for a longer stretch this year.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Yes, she has posted videos of her practicing on hard courts in India. That is why I wonder why she has entered clay court tournaments to start with. There were a couple of hard courts tournaments available next week in England ( where Rutuja is playing) and France ( where Ankita is playing) and more in the week after in Georgia, Japan and Spain. But, she chose tougher clay tournaments instead.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Yeah, I guess that can be the only reason why she has entered clay tournaments to start with. But, practice could have been also on clay courts than. Maybe there are no clay courts available at Round glass academy where she seems to be practicing under Aditya Sachdeva.

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi
Karman lost in first round on her return but she was unlucky to get 4th seed in first match after injury return.

[R1] Karman Kaur Thandi (IND,278) l. (4) Greet Minnen (BEL,173) 26 36
She is in the qualies entry list for W60 in Prague next week.
