Re: Sowjanya Bavisetti thread
It seems Sowjanya pulled out this week as she is replaced by a lucky loser. Sowjanaya like Prajnesh on mens side is prone to injury. Both of then need to improve their fitness levels or learn to stay clear of injuries as otherwise they are able to produce quite good results even on clay.

Sowjanya is back in action from this week after a 5 month layoff.Playing couple of Egyptian $10K events.
This week at $10,000 Sharm El Sheikh :
[R1] [4] Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND,603) vs Risa HASEGAWA (JPN,1155)
Tricky match to start with although the Japanese is lower ranked.

Re: Sowjanya Bavisetti thread
Good luck Sowjanya!! I think she still trains at the Sanchez-Casal academy in Barcelona and primarily on red clay. Hopefully, she stays healthy and we start to see some good results from her.

Re: Sowjanya Bavisetti thread
Yes, I guess mainly due to those extended training stints in Germany and Spain that most of them are having.
Good to see Sowjanya back on the circuit after a 5 months injury lay off and starting with a win. She had done well on the circuit last year and early this year. So, looking forward her to get back to that level soon.
Also waiting to see 2 more men players who had done well on the circuit but are missing due to injury for last few months - Prajnesh & KU Singh. Hope they get back to the circuit soon too.

Sowjanya into SF with a hard fought win.
At $10K Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
[QF] (4) Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND,603) d. (6) Pauline PAYET (FRA,577) 63 67(6) 64
Next,
[SF] (4) Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND,603) vs. (Q) Vojislava LUKIC (SRB,NR)
27 year old Lukic was ranked at a career high of 203 but that was 6 years back. She is probably making a comeback from injury.

Re: Sowjanya Bavisetti thread
Nice job beating a higher-ranked (but lower seeded!) player in the QF!
