Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
Kanika's Columbia team seems to be having a pretty good season (earning their highest-ever national ranking of #37) -- with Kanika herself at the forefront. She is currently ranked #57 nationally in singles and #32 in doubles, according to this write-up:

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
Good to hear that Kanika has made a decision to persue pro tennis tour post her college career which should get over this May. By playing those 9 tournaments on pro tour in fall, she has earned a ranking in both singles and doubles ( 974 & 872). This will enable her to get into 10K level events when she gets back to pro tour after May.

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
College #52 Kanika Vaidya had the biggest win of her college career probably, as she beat #6 Stephanie Wagner of UMiami 62 64. Her team (ranked 38) still lost 1-6 to #9 Miami, but Kanika seems to be in great form.

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
Kanika is now ranked 26th in the ITA singles ranking as on 22nd March, 2016. I hope she continues that progress and ends up in top 10 which would be a nice end to her college tennis career and good note to start her pro career.
She is the only Indian to be ranked in womens singles . A couple of Indians are ranked in womens doubles - Rutuja Bhosale (44) and Shweta Sangwan who in her freshman year(35) . A bit disappointed by Rutuja's lack of progress in singles.

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
Kanika played in the Japan futures this week but lost in first round against top seed.
At $10K ITF Women, Kyoto, Japan
[R1] Kanika VAIDYA (IND,946) l. (1) Michika OZEKI (JPN,550) 16 46
Incidentaly, Kanika was the only non-Japanese in the main draw here. All other 31 players were from Japan. And to make it worse she drew the top seed.

[R1] Q-Kanika VAIDYA (IND,994) l. (6) Olivia ROGOWSKA (AUS,398) 26 06
Her doubles partner upset the singles second seed this morning, so she is obviously talented.

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
Yes, I seem to have misread that (or perhaps the website changed the result later ). She seems to have lost a close 3-setter.

Re: Kanika Vaidya thread
That looks like a very poor-quality draw in Indonesia. Good to see Kanika capitalising, although it's amazing that she could reach the SF without playing a ranked player!
