Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
It is 4-4 in the third. PG had one BP in the 7th game but Sakamoto served well to hold. Easy hold for PG to even it.
4-5 after a tough hold from Sakamoto after one BP and 3 deuces. A broken string at a key point didn't help PG.
An error on a netted shot and then a 31 shot rally that PG hit out... Match pt. And PG loses.
Tallahassee Challenger 2021 (clay - Hurtru)
[R1] (3) Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND, 149) l. Pedro Sakamoto (BRA, 315) 26 62 46

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
PG gad some 4 or 5 BPs in three service games of Sakamoto in the third, but somehow the Brazilian stayed alive even when PG seemed to be in control. PG wasn't playing badly, but it wasn't his day today. He needs to get his stride back.

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
Prajnesh is playing qualfiers at Geneva.
At Gonet Geneva Open, Switzerland (Clay)
[Q1] Prajensh Gunneswaran (IND,148) vs. (5) Mackenzie Mcdonald (USA,120)
That is a tough one against an in-form player. Mcdonald reached SF last week at Heilbronn where Prajnesh lost in first round.

McDonald is world no. 41 in UTR. Reached AUS Open R4 and has won a 150k challenger this year.

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
Whenever this tournament is played, I am instantly reminded of Somdev , when in 2015 he (Somdev) within a span of 10 days, Somdev played 3 different tournaments.
On a Monday Morning Somdev played and lost R1 at Bordeaux Challenger , so he immediately jet's to Geneva ,and Friday to Sunday play's 3 qualifying matches at Geneva where he loses the FQR, and than after that loss, on the same day Sunday night hops on a plane to Paris to play the FO qualies which start on a Tuesday and played 2 matches at the qualies where he lost the 2nd round to a French man or Donskoy, don't know exactly who it was, as writing all this from memory .

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
Prajnesh lost in a 3 setter.
At Gonet Geneva Open aTP 250, Switzerland (Clay)
[Q1] Prajensh Gunneswaran (IND,148) l. (5) Mackenzie Mcdonald (USA,120) 36 63 36
Good fight by Praj against an in-form player. It was close, 1 break in each set but Mcdonald stayed ahead when it mattered.
Now, French open qualies next for Praj and our other players too.

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
PG’s opponent from yesterday lost to another in-form player today in the final round of qualifying. Wonder who was more in-form?

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread
Yes, Mcdonald lost to Ivashaka who reached Munich SF last month beating Zverev on the way and took a set off Nadal a weel before that in Barcelona. So, he was certainly more in-form than Mcdonald who was more in-form than Prajnesh.
