True, in worst case scenario, of him losing everything from here on, he would be around 105-107 on July 15, the cut-off date for US open main draw.Just needs some 25-30 points from now till them to stay in top 100 at that time and confirm the main draw at US open.

It does look like he plans to play in Munich based on this article-

Prajnesh — riding the tide of success
He hopped on the flight to Frankfurt, so that he could recover and train for the ATP Tour event in Munich next week, in which he may play the qualifying even

Prajnesh is 7 out from Munich ATP main draw now with 2 special exempt spots still to clear. Most of the alternates are common though for both Munich and Estoril ATP main draws. So, 2-3 withdrawals at either places may get in him in but looks unlikely with only few hours left. He will surely be one of the top 2 seeds in the qualies draw at Munich with his current ranking.

All depends on Tomic, Andreozzi and Delbonis.. Gulbis and Zverev have made it to main draw and Jarry will play at Estoril. I dunno if those 2 SEs caused this movement or all the updates are without them.

With special exempt spots cleared, Prajnesh is now 2 out from main draw at Munich and 1 out from Estroril. But, only a couple of hours left. So, probably that is where it ends up at and he would have play qualies most probably.

With the training base at Germany, I am sure Prajnesh would prefer to play the Munich ATP. I don't mind him playing in the qualifying draw either since the players (Maden, Rosol, Bachinger, Laaksonen, Hanfmann) in the field are European clay courters and will give him a good fight.

Munich it is! Top-seeded Prajnesh plays a WC player Alexander Erler from Austria (ranked 615th ATP and #69 in ITF tables).

My bad, Prajnesh is the second seed in the Q draw. He will face either Denis Istomin or WC Marcel-Cedrik Stebe for a place in the MD.

Prajnesh is struggling. Lost the first set 6-3 but won the second set TB. 2-all in the decider.

He was down 2-5 in the second set tie break too and I thought the match is over. But, Praj won next 5 points to take that set.

Then, broke Austrian player in the first game of the third set but was broken back immediately. Now, serving at 3-4 in the third set.

Broke the Austrian and served for the match at 5-4 but missed 2-3 matchpoints only to get broken for 5-5. :-(

Finally breaks the Austrlan after a long service game with 2-3 breakpoints and 2-3 gamepoints. Another chance to serve for the match at 6-5.

Phew, finally got thru. What a titanic struggle it turned out to be.

At $524K Munuch ATP 250,Germany (Clay)

[Q1] (2) Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND,75) d. (WC) Alexander Erier (AUT,615) 36 76(5) 75

Up next against Istomin,

[Q2] (2) Prajnesh Gunneswaran (IND,75) vs. (8) Denis Istomin (UZB,106)

That was an unexpectedly tough match against a pretty low-ranked player -- but you never know what a European can do on clay! Hopefully that serious challenge has prepared Prajnesh well for today's showdown against the experienced Istomin.

Prajnesh's lost the Q2 match against Istomin, 64 26 26, as discussed in the European Masters thread.

Prajnesh had made it to the Madrid qualifying entry list as an alternate but withdrew last night. Seems like he is sticking to that plan of playing directly at RG. I wonder if we'll get see him at Lyon/Geneva. Disappointing as he could have got a proper clay season and some points to move up the rankings, in fact he has one 0 pointer too.. It's a matter of concern, the shoulder niggle.. how bad is it? Last year Yuki too had started with niggles and ended up playing only the slams. Can anyone who's got to know more about this enlighten us on Praj situation?
