Yes she's done it , an emphatic 6-1 score line to make it into the finals to record a 6-4 , 6-1

With 48 points assured for a finals showing it would really help her in the rankings ladder and a title with 80 points would zoom her in the rankings

One of the best showing by an Indian player , Mens/Ladies for this year.

At $60K ITF Womens Tournament 2017, Luan, China

[SF] Ankita Raina (IND,321) bt (5) Sofia Shapatava (GEO,244) 64 61

Live rankings put her at 266 now (up from 281 before the match), with a possibility of jumping to 244 (where Daniela Hantuchova now sits) if she wins the final.

Ankita's superb run continues and she reached her first $60 ( earlier $50K) level final. This comes out of nowhere as based on her results this year we were wondering if her game has declined for good and now she comes up with this career best run. Hope she caps it tomorrow with a big title.

It won's be easy against Chinese top seed.

At $60K ITF Womens Tournament 2017, Luan, China

[F] Ankita Raina (IND,321) vs. (1) Lin ZHU (CHN,124)

Zhu has beaten Ankita both the time they have met so far - in final of $25K in Indonesia in 2014 and more recently in Fed cup this February. But, on both occasions, the matches went to 3 sets. So, hope Ankita is third time lucky. :-)

Ankita just levelled the match! 3-6 6-3

She's just one set away from the title!

Most importantly, her break-point conversion has been perfect - 5/5 (In comparison, Zhu converted 5 of 11.)

Yes, nice comeback. Took 4 straight games from 2-3 down in the second set.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be any live stream for this match. Strange considering the level of tournament.

Well, it was a remarkable comeback by Ankita in third set. Getting from 0-5 down to 4-5 but got broken and fell short in the end.

At $60K ITF Womens Tournament 2017, Luan, China

[F] Ankita Raina (IND,321) l. (1) Lin ZHU (CHN,124) 36 63 46

Still an excellent week for Ankita, the best in her pro career so far.

True, she fought back from 05 to get it back on serve, only to lose her serve at the very end.

She saved 4 match points. 2 at 0-5 and another 2 at 2-5.
Hope she carries the confidence from this tournament to the rest of the season.

Despite the loss in the final, a fantastic effort by the India #1 woman player.
Ankita has shown this week that she belongs at this level. I'm sure it'll give her a great platform to build on. That Luan (in Anhui province) was hot and humid may have played to her advantage, but there are a lot of venues in Asia where it will be like this in April-June.
