Very good win by Ankita considering her recent form. She did not have a top 300 win before this in 2017. Also it is good that these wins come in a 60K tournament which will give her important points.

Fantastic stuff from Ankita. Great to see her upset a higher-ranked (and seeded) Chinese player. It's been awhile since she was in this kind of form, but this is very good to see (after quite a long hiatus of woeful form).

Excellent upset win by Ankita over a top 150 Chinese to move thru to the SF.

This is Ankita's only second semi final for a tournament at this level ( $50K previously). She had reached SF at $50K in China in May 2015. Hope she goes further this time.

WOW!! Ankita must have been working on re-tooling her game (which might explain her awful results earlier in the year, until just two weeks ago). But this week has been absolutely spectacular.
Particularly gratifying that she is beating a string of higher-level Chinese players (now, one ranked 182 places above her!!) in a tournament in China.

Outside of her 2 top100 wins in fed cup in 2016, this is Ankita's best win on pro tour ( based on ranking of the opponent). Earlier she had a win over 143rd ranked Russian Alexandrova last September in Tshkent. So, it is quite a special one for her. But, I hope she keeps her focus for tomorrow's match.

Anita 4-2 up now , infact had many chances to go up 5-1 up but got broken , just needs to hold her serve to wrap up this set.
but if the 5th game where she got broken is any indication than we are in for a long haul and hoping Ankita seals the match eventually.

Squandered 3 break points for a chance to go up 5-2 a, 2 points at 15-40 on the Georgian's serve and once on add out , and finally lost the game to make it 4-3 with Ankita's serve to come. Hope she can hold on to her nerves and finish off the set.
