As of now, it seems Ankita is headed to UK for grass season. She is in the qualifying entry list of $100K tournaments in Surbiton and Manchester in the weeks of June 4 & 11.

Bold decision to chose these tough tournaments over Uzbek challenger series. Hope it pays off.

Well she has been doing this for the whole year and has a string of losses to show. But she seems to be one tough cookie and appears to be learning to play at this level as this week shows. Hope she is able to build on this good performance.

Good fighting performance by Ankita in the final ... Terrific week for her.

She has posted her picture with runner-up trophy on her FB page.

As I said earlier, Ankita is playing qualifiers at UK grass challenger.

At $100K ITF Women, Surbiton (Grass)

[Q1] (3) Ankita RAINA (IND,266) vs. Laura DEIGMAN (GBR,999)

If she wins the Q1, her Q2 match will also be played today.

She defeats Monique in 2 tough sets. Playing together with her doubles partner and good friend, Emily Webley-Smith, brings so much luck to Ankita :D

Yes, good for her getting second win on grass on same day.

At $100K ITF Women, Surbiton (Grass)

[Q2] (3) Ankita RAINA (IND,266) d. Monique ADAMCZAK (AUS,694) 75 76(5)

Next,

[Q3] (3) Ankita RAINA (IND,266) vs. (7) Dayana YASTREMSKA (UKR.325)

Dayana was a junior Wimbledon finalist last year. So, it is a tough match for Ankita in her effort to qualify for this big challenger.

Ankita lost the first set 3-6. Close match so far with just one break of serve. Can she turn the tables?

Ankita lost in the final qualifying round.

At $100K ITF Women, Surbiton (Grass)

[Q3] (3) Ankita RAINA (IND,266) l. (7) Dayana YASTREMSKA (UKR.325) 36 46

It was a very close second set with her opponent winning just 1 point more than Ankita. Overall, it was a decent match against last year's junior Wimbledon runner up.

Ankita is playing doubles here along with Emily Webley-Smith.

At $60K Bursa (Turkey) ITF tournament

[R1] 5-Ankita Raina (IND, 274) vs. Vanda Lukacs (HUN, 404)

Kyra Shroff (IND, 784) is in Q2 of singles there (and I presume she and Ankita will pair up for doubles).

Kyra won her Q2 match and both are playing doubles with different partners. So, it would be better to open a thread.

At $80K ITF Women, Prague, Czech Republic

So, there ends whatever hopes she had on getting into USO qualies.

Ankita is a very inconsistent player. The occasional week of brilliant tennis interspersed with lots of bad losses to lower-ranked players.
