The doubles results that really mattered though were

Federer/Wawrinka 6-4, 6-2 Paes/Bhupathi
Ancic/Ljubicic 7-6, 4-6, 16-14 Paes/Bhupathi
Woodbridge/Woodforde 6-3, 7-6 Paes/Bhupathi
Woodbridge/Woodforde 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 Paes/Bhupathi

Thanks for that link Sameer....

Sumit absolutely nailed it with his attitude on this question...... :notworthy:
You are the youngest player from India in the Top 500. Do you feel any pressure? And how do you hope this win will help grow the game there?

No, not at all. I actually don't. I just want to do something for my country. Me winning a Challenger shows that they can do it too. It doesn't matter how your junior tournaments went. But if you keep doing the right thing, it can change so fast. You don't have to hit amazing forehands and backhands. All you have to do is fight for every point and wake up every day and say that I'm going to get one per cent better. Today I'm going to get 0.5 per cent better. It's just about having the right motivation and right determination to work hard, but in a smart way.

Nice interview Vatsal. One small correction: you say that Sumit is the fifth Indian to win a Slam junior title. Ramanathan Krishnan, Ramesh Krishnan (both French Open and Wimbledon), Leander Paes (both Wimbledon and US Open), Yuki Bhambri (AO) and Sania Mirza (Wimbledon doubles) had won Slam junior titles before him, so Sumit is the 6th Indian to win a title.

Sumit has a come a long way from the junior I saw at the USO, a few years back. He is quite a fighter with speed. The only Indian I have seen who leaves skid marks on concrete! I agree with Prof that his game can be tailored after the Spanish bullterrier David Ferrer, but the other David - Goffin would be more attractive.

That means it would be true if he said junior singles slam title, right?

Sumit won the doubles title at Wimbledon, so if we are talking only about junior singles slams he wouldn't make it to the list (so would Sania).

Hmm. Right. I was not thinking right. If he had won a singles junior slam, his junior ranking would possibly have been single digits and there would have been a lot of hoopla like it was with Yuki. Then, we need to take out singles and put in "male".
