This week Sumit has decided to go thru qualies at futures level.

At $15K Romania F2 Futures, Clay

[Q1] Sumit NAGAL (IND) [1] BYE
[Q2] Sumit NAGAL (IND) [1] 6-1 7-5 Iulian Mihai CRISAN ZARA (ROU)
[Q3] Sumit NAGAL (IND) [1] 6-1 6-0 Sergey DOROZHKIN (RUS) [10]

Main draw -

[R1] (5) Sumit NAGAL (IND,405) vs. Nicolae FRUNZA (ROM,580)

Again Sumit is not getting any luck with easy draws. Frunza won the futures title just last week in Romania and so is a player on a hot streak.

It seems he was a tired guy as he retired after losing the first set to Sumit.

At $25K Romania F2 Futures, Clay

[R1] (5) Sumit NAGAL (IND,405) d. Nicolae FRUNZA (ROM,580) 62 retd.

So, this turns out be the first ATP point that Sumit has earned since his return to the circuit.

Next,

[R2] (5) Sumit NAGAL (IND,405) vs. Carlos GOMEZ-HERRERA (ESP,576)

Carlos was a semi finalist last week. So, lets see how Sumit fares against him.

Good start for Sumit, hoping for a deeper run here.

This is good win by Sumit against experienced Spansh Carlos Gomez-Herrera ... It also shows Sumit is getting his confidence back and gaining momentum.

At $25K Romania F2 Futures 2017, Bacau

[R2] (5) Sumit Nagal (IND,405) bt Carls Gomez-Herrera (ESP,576) 76(3) 63

Yes, he seems to be slowly getting back into groove. The fact that he was willing to go thru qualies at this week's futures indicates that he feel he needs as much match practice as possible to get back to where he was before injury.

Next he is up against top seed.

At $25K Romania F2 Futures 2017, Bacau

[QF] (5) Sumit Nagal (IND,405) vs. (1) Gregoire JACQ (FRA,367)

These are the kind of players that Sumit was beating most of the time last season. So, this match will show where he stands now.

Sumit was in hurry against top-seed Frenchman Gregoire Jacq. :D
In 53 mins, mockery of seedings.

At $25K Romania F2 Futures 2017, Bacau

[QF] (5) Sumit Nagal (IND,405) bt (1) Gregoire Jacq (FRA,367) 60 60

Wow, he seems to be well and truly back now. Now, only needs to continue this momentum for next 2 matches which will give maximum points.

At $25K Romania F2 Futures 2017, Bacau

[SF] (5) Sumit Nagal (IND,405) vs. (7) Frederico FERREIRA SILVA (POR,406)

Another tough one. Ferreura Silva was ranked 231 a year back and had a win over Denis Istomin this month in Estoril ATP where he got a wild card.

What could be better than double-bagelling the TOP seed?! Keep it going for two more matches, Sumit!
