Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
Mahesh Bhupathi has now lost 3 Big Doubles finals to Paes,as far as I can recollect i.e in USOPEN--2009,in Miami--2010 & in Shanghai--2012.
Bhupathi should get back to winning the finals,as in the last few years he has lost many finals then winning them.
He can put it across in the finals, just need the right application and an attitude of no another tomorrow..
Still a lot of good tennis in him as long as he keeps himself in the top10-15 bracket of doubles.

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
Bopanna's serve was very good until it let him down at a very crucial moment in the STB, where he served a DF, but still a good performance from him & Bhupathi...
Bopanna is back in the top-10, while Bhupathi is at 16...

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
I am not sure why they have to break up, but MB/RB should reconsider staying together as long as MB is playing. Both of them, especially RB, have already paid the ultimate penalty to create this pairing in the first place.
There are many advantages of playing with a fellow citizen and RB's reported pairing with Nestor does not serve any greater purpose IMHO. It also solves RB's dilemma after Aisam turned him down.

Agree fully with Atithee. There seems to be no point in RB-MB breaking up as this is as good as they are likely to get with anyone. MB has only done better with LP (and that pairing isn't going to happen) and RB could have potentially done better with Aisam (but that ship has seemingly sailed as well).

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
The loss to paes in the shanghai masters doubles final definately should be hurting bhupathi/Bopanna, the last thing they wanted was to lose to paes in a Final & thats what has happened.
I fear the loss will be hurting them much specially after the spat with reference to paes a few months back.
Bhupathi/Bopanna had an opportunity to prove a Point against paes, but they havent & have lost a bit of self esteem after the loss, they however should bounce back ,qualify for the Doubles Championship & prove a point on their own.

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
Well after the bitter loss against Leander the team of Bhupathi-Bopanna concentrating to qualify for the world tour finals and now will be playing in the next week at Basel..First round will be against Chardy-LIodra...The other two contenders Qureshi-Rojer and Poles are also playing and most probably Basel will decide the final list...Interesting is Nestor-Zimonjic reunited here and are top seed. Lets hope that Indians would seal it at Basel..All the best

Bhupathi-Bopanna lose in the first round in a STB.
[R1] D. Norman/R Haase d Bhupathi/Bopanna 7-5, 2-6, 14-12.
The Poles win the first round.

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
Aisam/Rojer & Fleming/Hutchins lost as well, which makes it a close one, which would be decided in Paris.........
Aisam/Rojer - 3515
Bhupathi/Bopanna - 3455
Poles - 3420* (Still playing at Basel)
Fleming/Hutchins - 2330 (All but ruled out)
So, 2 spots available to be grabbed between Aisam/Rojer, Indians & the Poles. The poles will have a head start here if they can win one more round at Basel... and then it will come down to the Paris Masters...

Re: Mahesh Bhupathi-Rohan Bopanna (pair) thread
Is there a WC for the final 8? Otherwise, the list above indicates the folks who are 6-9th in the rankings, so 3 of the 4 should make the top-8 and the year-end championships if it is based solely on the rankings.

Arjun,
Jonathan Marray & Frederik Nielsen automatically qualified on the basis of them being Wimbledon champions. That leaves only 3 more open spots.

Varma, Top 5 including Lopez/Granollers and Marray/Nielsen have already qualified. That leaves only 2 spots open, not 3....
The Poles have moved ahead of the Indians by reaching Basel SF... Below are the current standings......
Aisam/Rojer - 3515
Poles - 3510* (Still playing at Basel)
Bhupathi/Bopanna - 3455
Fleming/Hutchins - 2330 (All but ruled out)
