I hope coming back twice within 2 months from an injury break was an informed decision. Hopefully he knew of this "freeze" option within the PR clause.

The key for Saketh will be fitness (i.e., being injury free). If so, he will win at the Futures level and collect the 130+ points, he needs to move into the top-300 fairly quickly - probably as quickly as playing challengers as he is likely to be rusty and lose more matches at the challenger level in the first month or so. Hope that he can play at least a couple of more years without significant injury breaks...

Saketh is on the entry list of $25K+H Spain ITF for the week of June 25th. VSP is also there. Let's see if both of them confirms to play there.

I see him in the entry list of $75K challenger in Binghamton, USA starting July 23 where he has just made the cut. So, that appears to be his next tournament.

Saketh is in the qualifying draw of the $75K Astana Challenger. Seeded 2nd, he has a BYE in round 1 and starts off his QR2 campaign tomorrow. Arjun Kadhe is also in the draw, seeded 3rd.

Continuing the updates in their respective player threads for now (we can always merge them once they both feature in the MD).

They are playing R1 doubles now. It is bizarre that most of the R1 singles matches will only be played on Thursday! How will they finish this tournament??

At one time, I thought Saketh will win this and put a stop to the first round reverses that we were suffering all over this week. Alas, it was not to be. He bucked the trend and succumbed in three sets.

[R1] Saketh Myneni (IND,357) l. Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera (CHI,348) : 3-6, 6-3, 6-4

That's a tough opening round, but hopefully Saki has now settled down after the journey from Central Asia and would be able to turn the tables.

Exciting upset-win for Saketh

[R1] Saketh Myneni (IND,339) 7-5 7-6 (3) Norbert Gombos (SVK,182)

[R2] Saketh Myneni (IND,339) vs. Ronnie Schneider (USA,529)

Also, why do we have these updates scattered all over the place? I thought someone opened a thread for the Pre-US Open challengers. Mods, please move these to that thread.
