Maybe his retirement was due to some serious injury scare ... Frankly, don't know but not blaming him till we get a clear picture.

Saki is back, finally! Good to see him in the Q-draw of the Astana CH starting this weekend. He is seeded #2 and gets a BYE in Round 1.

Saki starts with a straight sets win.

At $125K(+H) Astana Challenger, Kazakhstan

[Q1] (2) Saketh Myneni (IND,432) bye
[Q2] (2) Saketh Myneni (IND,432) d. Beibit Zukayev (KAZ,NR) 64 62

Initially, he was down 0-3 in the first set but seemed to have found some of his rhythm.

Next,

[Q3] (2) Saketh Myneni (IND,432) vs. (5) Altug Celikbileg (TUR,448)

Good to see Saki is playing in the qualifying for getting match-fit ... Next, match against top-500 will be a real test for him.

Hope he lines up a good schedule now and improves his ranking by end of the year.

I am glad Saketh managed to get decent chunk of cash that will see him through the tour for at least a year, if not more. While I am very happy for him, it is quite annoying and irritating to see these CMs throw money at their will without following any norms at all. Which other sports(wo)men has he supported and sponsored? What is the basis for these cash awards and who determines the amount that is being awarded?

Umm, CM?

Good for Saki and hopefully he will build his comeback on received support.

Chandrababu wants to claim Saketh for his fledgling new state (especially because TN was wooing him too). Why begrudge them the mutual benefit?!

Hey, Saki has no excuses now. He should try his level best to see where he can get in singles. At least for a year or two more, but get your doubles up to par too, Saki. If you can be healthy and can play doubles too, you can really help us in the immediate future, man. I am sick of the constant crap about team selection. A good doubles player who can play singles is badly needed now.
