vatsal, can you do something about the picture and post one for us? Always nice to see things like brides and grooms (as long as we don't do what we did here when Sania decided to get married - that bloodbath was something to see; it left me with the feeling like I was the only one who had no issue with Sania's choice).

Srilakshmi looks so pretty. Hey, maybe she will bring luck to us for an unthinkable upset!

This is great news! Look what Mirka has done for Federer. I am all for tennis players getting hitched early. Really addresses the loneliness factor on the tour and creates stable mindset.

I hope this energizes Saketh for dc play.

Saketh has withdrawn from the Shenzhen Qualies. Not sure of the reason.

How could you not know the reason, Vatsal? Between you and Rajiv (who happens to have him on WhatsApp), this forum won't compromise for anything but hourly updates of Saketh :p.

On a serious note, I hope his withdrawal is not due to any injury. His most recent one didn't let him play for an extended period. He can't go inactive during his hot phase.

I always felt that playing these ATP''s was a huge gamble with little hope of any tangible results
Ho Chi Minh , Pune , 125k HuaHin these are the 3 business end - core tournaments which will determine the path on where they stand and how they start Y2017 and glad he and Ram have understood it , In Ram's case he doesn't have many points to defend , but Saki has considerable points to defend the target should be minimum realistic target of 75 -90 points from these 3 tourneys.

He will need more that that to at least maintain his ranking. He has 174 points to defend for the rest of the year. That is why unless he is injured he should have played in those ATP tournaments in China.

It seems Saketh took a few week off from the tour to rest his shoulder but will be back next week at Vietnam challenger.

This is an article from Hindu -

Myneni not quite ready for Paes offer
“I will be playing the Challengers in Vietnam and China over the next two weeks before the one in Pune. That is the plan.”

I also think that is a right decision to deny Lee's offer. The tournaments are likely to be decided by Lee.If he cannot get a MD entry in that tournament, he could not sacrifice his singles career for double's sake.

The Pune Challenger EL is out and the cut-off is very very low, ending at Sanam Singh(#556). Other Indians in the Main Draw include -

Saketh, Ramkumar(seeded #3 and #5 tentatively), Yuki, Prajnesh, Sumit, Balaji, VSP, Sasi.

Other notable names in the field include Evgeny Donskoy(1st seed), 37 yo Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo(2nd seed), young Korean Duckhee Lee and British Davis-Cupper James Ward!

Saketh has falled to #183 in the live rankings after the R1 victory at Ho Chi Minh. Another win will take him up to #182. If he goes deep, then he gets to move up more.
