No points for playing the round 1. I do not see her beating Namigata but good opportunity to play top 150 player.

Very good to see Prerna venturing to play a $100K Challenger. She will get some points for qualifying in, but the experience should be invaluable anyway. Winning R1 will be tough, but showing up is half the battle...

Yes, it will be a valuable experience for Prerna of playing against top-150 player though match is very tough.

No extra points over the Q1 and Q2 wins for making it as a LL but she will get the first round proze money, which is some extra $500 or something over what she would have had otherwise. Great experience to play a top-150 player for her though. Jay

I think first round losers get 1 point. So she should get atleast 1 more point. Hoping for many more though :goodluck:

You are right . One point for main draw . So, total 5 points for the week as she lost in the first round.

PRERNA AT 633 IS NOW THE 2ND HIGHEST RANKED INDIAN WOMAN. The rankings are hardly encouraging but nice to see the younger players coming in the forefront. Here is the top 12 list:

1.Mirza, Sania (65)
2.Bhambri, Prerna (633)
3.Venkatesha, Poojashree (643)
4.Balu, Sharmada (694)
5.Shrivastava, Ashvarya (707)
6.Shroff, Kyra Firdaus (762)
7.Chakravarthi, Rushmi (774)
8.Raina, Ankita (829)
9.Sunkara, Rishika (936)
10.Goutham, Sheethal (938)
11.Batra, Ratnika (962)
12.Bhosale, Rutuja (1059)

I remember that despite being the juniors No 1, Yuki was barely inside the top 1000, then how come is Bhosale ranked so high?? Sad to see Rushmi down from No 3 to No 7. Equally surprising is the ranking of Goutham who I think has'nt played fo a while.

Hey! I saw and even commented on them much earlier! But despite her good showing in 2 of the ITF events she is only ranked 91 or some thing in the juniors. So if by being ranked in the 90s of juniors, she can be in the 1000s of seniors, why was Yuki ranked so low in the ATP despite being No 1 in juniors. THATS MY QUESTION! Of course girls mature faster than boys! :p

Rajorshi, not sure we are getting your question.

Yuki got to no. 1 in Feb. 2009 when he had hardly played anything much on mens circuit. Once he started playing seriously later in 2009, he zoomed up inside 500. And of course , as you said girls get onto WTA tour much earlier than boys on ATP tour. In girls, you would hadly find anyone who is closer or higher than 18 years in the top 30 or so in the ITF junior rankings . The good ones would have already moved on to the womens circuit. On the boys side there are lots of them playing even after they have crossed 18. Although some like Yuki give up early & skip their final year of juniors to concentrate on mens tour.

I am not sure if I have understood & answered your question correctly. :D

Shame on me that being an english graduate, I can't even explain a simple question! I asked that Bhosale ranked in the 90s of juniors is in the 1000s of seniors. But even Yuki who was No1 in juniors in 2009 was then ranked in the 1000s of seniors. And yes you answered it! Seems he didn't play much on the senior circuit then.
