KU got thrashed by Sekiguchi. :-(

At $15K Thailand F5 Futures, Bangkok

[R2] (3) Karunuday SINGH (IND,483) l. (6) Shuichi SEKIGUCHI (JPN,566) 06 26

His performance in last 2 weeks has been bad. I hope there is no injury issue as he is another player who is injury prone.

[F] (4) Shuichi SEKIGUCHI (JPN) / Karunuday SINGH (IND) vs (3) Pruchya ISAROW (THA)/ Nuttanon KADCHAPANAN (THA)

KU played in a futures in China but expected first round loss against talented Korean.

At $25K China F10 Futures, Longyan

[R1] Karunuday SINGH (IND,1184) l. (2) Duck Hee LEE (KOR,201) 26 46

KU needs to find some weaker events where he can get some wins and some confidence back.

He was injured and did not play for 9 months from last June to this March. So, he has only played 6-7 tournament since his comeback in March.

Thanks for the detail, Sameer. I was loosely following his thread, although with not a great attention. I vaguely remember him not playing so well and then getting injured, but never realized he had nose dived this low. His initial promise had indications of top-350 at least, if not any higher. Not sure how good a doubles player he is, but given his injuries and not such a huge leap in sigles success, he should consider giving a serious thought for a doubles career. It is hard to do that with where he is now, but his options are pretty limited anyway, I guess. I wish him the best in his pursuit of success, nevertheless.

He was way better than that when I saw him playing the Chandigarh futures which he won I guess. It seemed he had a good strong service n pretty decent overall game but yes fitness has been a worrying factor for KU right through his career. If he is able to find a injury free playing year then I m pretty sure he will get back on song due considering his age which is not that much of a worrying factor as of now . And yes as mentioned in d thread above he should try some weak futures to get some victories under his belt and most importantly the lost confidence.

KU gets a lucky break and moves into the Semis by virtue of a walkover
He would face the winner of the match involving Finn Tearney & Sun Fanjing , a tight match that is in progress having split the two sets both on tiebreaks and 1 all on serve in the decider
