Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
RamK wins the first set 76(4). Very close set but RamK prevailed when it mattered in the points in the tie break.

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Unfortunately, RamK lost in 3 sets.
At $7M Shanghai ATP 1000
[Q2] RamKumar Ramanathan (IND,123) l. Hubert Hurkacz (POL,94) 76(4) 46 57
Close match where RamK won 108 points against 112. Just 1 break in each of second and third sets. He could not break Herbert in the match.

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Ram being the top seed at Hungary challenger which ends on 10th Feb enters New York Open which starts on 11th Feb.. won't the qualies be held before 11th? Regardless, the trip from Hungary to New York will surely take one day.. Either he's going to skip a tournament or he is pessimistic of his chances at Hungary.
Will be interesting to see what direction our guys take. Ram of course will have Delray qualies, Indian wells challenger (same week as Dubai 500) and finally Indian Wells and Miami 1000s in March in his path post New York.

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
It is a good strategy by Ram. His career win loss at ATP events (48.8%) is better than than at challenger level (44.4%). It looks like he is able to motivate himself better for ATP events rather than challengers. He qualfied into main draw last year at Delray Beach .

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
He has entered Dubai qualifier which starts on 25th. Hungary challenger, New York qualies, Delray qualies followed by Dubai qualies. High risk approach and long travels. I thought he'd enter Indian Wells Challenger (same week as Dubai) which is a precursor to Indian Wells Masters and has a total prize money of 162k. No news of Prajnesh for this week though
