Nice article. Leander's mentoring will go a long way - really good to see this happening. Curious to see the simplification that Lee is talking about.

Another great article, and great to see RamRam stretching for a single-handed backhand near the net. The improvement on the backhand flank has been the big step upward in his game this year.

If he wins the title, not only will he be catapulted to #98, he will have a place in the US Open main draw too. It will be a transformative moment in his career.

The NewPort guys aptly described Ram's exploits on their website couple of days back.

Too late for US open main draw. Entry list came out this Monday. Still, it would be great for him to break into top 100.

Yuki didn't play. And in 1 stroke RamK has catapulted him in terms of achievements at the senior level. Maybe a lesson for Yuki?

It doesn't matter as in any case he was a no show at USO, due to the Asian Games

Probably, if he could have made the main draw he could have made it to USO as the Asian Games tennis is being played in USO qualifying week.

He is now back to equal his career best ranking of #115.

The Hindu has a long tradition of tennis writing - Nirmal Shekar was a particular standout particular during the Krishnan and Amritraj eras when you could always count on excellent reporting from him.

Nirmal Shekar ofcourse was a rare breed.
But the seeds of Tennis Patronage were sown by the Kasturi family which started the magazine "Sports and Pastime" in the 1940's which later morphed into "SportsStar" , and N Ram a member of the Kasturi family firmly strengthened that tradition further and encouraged and supported the likes of Nirmal Shekar in Tennis , S. Thaygarajan in Hockey.

On the topic of sharing articles, I liked the following focusing on the inputs from the people who matter the most to Ram

1. Article with inputs from Ram's coach and Ram himself (even Marin Cilic's comments from Pune open are included): https://scroll.in/field/887717/early-pr ... -the-ranks
2. Article with inputs from Ramanathan Kumarappan Sir and Somdev Devvarman
http://www.espn.in/tennis/story/_/id/24 ... nnis-elite
3. Article focusing on the mental fitness aspects with Ram: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/spo ... TOIDesktop
4. Article from PTI - Rajiv shared before i think
5. Local dailies from Rhode Island filed couple of interesting reports with a very different viewpoint than what we are used to. They were behind a firewall and needed me to use USA IP address to access them
