Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
Nope,he has scratched his name from Astana challenger alternates list now. So, he may be playing in Gstaad ATP qualies as you mentioned, Dinesh.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
But, he could not do much.
At Swiss Open, Gstaad (Clay)
[Q1] Vijay Sunder Prashanth (IND,381) l. Gerald Melzer (AUS,181) 26 26
It is time to get back to India/Asia and play on more familiar surfaces.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
He would have got a direct entry to the $75K Astana Challenger this week. Chose to withdraw and play Gstaad qualies.
Didn't really do much in the 3 ATP qualifying events he played in Europe this year (Geneva, Stuttgart & Gstaad)

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
Step by step is the only way. If you are ranked in the 380s, you have to be playing Challengers.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
Congratulations to VSP for his third futures title of this year and also of his career. Welcome return to form him after a barren 5 months or so where he played a weird schedule partly due to his German league assignment.
With 18 points from this week and 6 from last week which are still to be updated, VSP will move up to around 330 in next week's rankings. He has a lot of points to defend in October/November now and will have to play a mix of challengers and futures to defend those and try to move upto at least top 300 by end of the year.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
VSP is at a career high of 335 this week. He has had a very good year so far with 3 futures titles, qualifying in into Chennai open and also both the India challengers held earlier this year. He would have ranked even higher had he not wasted about 4-5 months of summer playing in Europe on clay. Now, he needs to end the year strong to maintain and possibly improve his ranking as he has 41 points to defend for rest of the year.

My goal now is to break into the top 100. I’m not even thinking of quitting, especially after the recent successes.
Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
Great article. Looks very fit, which is crucial obviously. Wish him the best, hope he gets his breakthrough this year and maximizes points in the next 2 months.
