Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
^^^ I was wondering what they were going to do since there was a week break between last week’s Challenger and next week’s Las Vegas CH in the US. Wise of them to stick around and play in an ITF.

Yes, they are in this for the long-term. Playing to a plan. They seem to be a tight pair, who spent a lot of time together in Europe during the Covid break, has VSP's wife Sonam Nair cheering them and Anirudh's brother PC Vignesh advising them and all that. At least that is what I see from social media pictures from courts and all that. A tight team. All the best to them. They are doing well.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
VSP won the Q1 today, 62 61 over Tomas Quesada Perez (ESP,NR) in Q1 and plays the 5th seed Rahul Dhokia (GBR,1711) the Q2...
Anirudh is not there for doubles, so VSP is playing doubles with Sathi Reddy Chirala (IND) at the Harlingen M25... They have played together before, and won a round at the M15 in Memphis in August.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
Make it one more qulaifying job by an Indian. What is with everybody this week? VSP upset the 5th seed 63 63 just now and made the main draw at the M25 in Harlingen!

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
And, continuing with the terrible luck in draws this week, he too drew a seed. 5th seed Martin Damm (USA,507). This has been a weird week, really.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
He lost the R1 at M25 Harlingen to the (young) Martin Damm by a 36 46 score. He was playing quite decently actually, when I saw the match for about 20 minutes and he broke back in the second set too even it at 2-2. But there was a lot of rust in his game.

VSP and Sathi Reddy won one round against a couple of wildcards but fell in the QF to the third seeds.

At the Challenger 80 in Charlottesville, VA, USA (Hard),
[R1] Anirudh Chandrasekar (IND)/ N Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND) vs (1) William Blumberg (USA)/ Jackson Withrow (USA)
It has been a spectacular run of tough R1 matches that all our players have been getting from the draws lately.

Re: Vijay Sundar Prasanth
You beat me to it, Jay.
Withrow is ranked 51 in ATP doubles rankings and Blumberg is 86. So, that is a real good quality win by this pair.
