Re: Purav Raja thread...
At €46.6K+H Quimper Challenger 2020, France
[SF] (3) Purav Raja (IND)/ Adil Shamasdin (CAN) l. Ivan Sabanov (CRO)/ Matej Sabanov (CRO), 26 36
I was hoping for a final here... Lost chance against the Sabanov brothers.

Re: Purav Raja thread...
With the second round loss at Bergamo, and the first round loss at Pau, both with Shamasdin (see the 2020 European challenger thread), Purav wasn't able to pick up much to replace the 225 points for the SF at the Dubai ATP last year (with Jeevan). So, he will drop to around #110 next week, behind RamK at around #101, as the 4th highest ranked Indian doubles player. But the 375 points since last November from 3 challenger titles and one SF with RamK, keeps him at a decent ranking.
He should just travel with RamK, wherever RamK goes! He has hardly done much with others for a whole year, but seems to complement RamK very well. And RR won't have to worry about finding doubles partners.

Re: Purav Raja thread...
Glasspool just won a ATP doubles title last week, so this will be a tough match but Purav already is having a good week defeating teams involving former top-20 players in Pouille and Tomic. Go Purav!!

Re: Purav Raja thread...
One went to Columbia, one went to Switzerland and the other somewhere. Why? To play doubles in a challenger. Then lost in round one. Why????

Re: Purav Raja thread...
They should play with each other; at least it will make travel and camaraderie easier. It’s not like they have a permanent partner with whom they are getting stellar results.

Re: Purav Raja thread...
I guess we haven't come back to this thread in a long while. After the above discussion, Purav got back with RamK for an SF and a QF, and then split again, to play with James Cerratani for an event. They lost the first match to Divij and Sitak. I guess the two of them realized that they were made for each other after all ... Except for an odd week with another partner, it has been Di-Pu for 21 events during the past year for Purav.
Next week he is playing with Charles Broom (GBR,211) at the Challenger 125 in Oreias, Portugal. This guy Broom is a 24 year old who has come up fast in doubles to near 200 the last year, playing with a bunch of different partners. I guess this is a one-week thing. Not sure where Divij is, next week. Not seeing him in the entry lists as of now.
