Divij-Scott had two match points on Weissborn's serve in the 12th game of the second set ... They missed that and lost the tie-break, but they recovered to win the match tie-break comfortably ... Next, they r facing the 4th seed Dutch pair.

At $561K Sofia Open 2018, Bulgaria

[SF] Scott Lipsky (USA)/ Divij Sharan (IND) vs (4) Robin Haase (NED)/ Matwe Middelkoop (NED)

6 DFs in 3 service games by our pair so far. Started off with our pair getting broken twice - 0-3 score. Then our pair breaks them twice to make it 3-3. Divij I think then served 3 DFs to get broken again. 3-4 down now

Batman has a stream for this match

Divij keeps moving up in the rankings and is now at a new career high of 42. His next set of points to defend are only in May. So, he can keep going up with some good performances in next couple of months.

Divij/Andre lost in the STB, making it easy for the AITA to find more reasons in accusing Divij for skipping the tie. :damn:

For the record - [R1] (2) SHARAN, Divij (IND) / BEGEMANN, Andre (GER) lost to CLAYTON, Scott (GBR) / PEL, David (NED) 4-6, 7-5, 6-10

One of those strange ones where you win more points 71 vs 68 but still lose

Nice coup to partner Jan-Lennard Struff, who pulled off a huge upset in DC doubles this weekend (partnering Puetz to beat Lopez-Lopez, the former FO champions, on clay). That same pair also beat Australia's Ebden/Peers in the previous round of Davis Cup.
But Divij has a higher doubles ranking than Struff, so the latter may well be thinking he has pulled off a minor coup to be partnering Divij :-)

[QF] D.Sharan(IND)/J.Struff(Ger) vs D.Inglot(GBR)/M.Daniell(NZL) 6-7 (5), 6-0, 11-9

Awesome win for Divij and partner! Divij does seem to do well with a variety of partners -- he must be having very good doubles skills and smarts! Perhaps, being a lefty helps as I assume he mostly partners with righties...
