He could not do that.

Off to next week. It seems Sanam is going to play 4 consecutive weeks of futures in Canada.

I'm happy about one thing that for the first time in years I see SS is playing Futures for 4 consecutive weeks,I'm sure a title coming in the coming 3 weeks.

This week he is seeded 3rd.

At Canada F9 $15K Futures (Clay)

R1 [3] Sanam SINGH (312) vs David VOLFSON (CAN,955)

No doubles this week. Good decision. :goodluck:

Yes, but he chose the wrong weeks to do so where there are buch of challengers taking place all the over the world. :D

These are the weeks when he would have got to the main draws of the challengers in Asia and US. He would have got into main draw of Bangkonk challenger last week and could have just sneaked into Shanghai challenger this week. If he wanted to stay on in US, he would have got into main draw of Cary and Columbus challengers for next 2 weeks.

When he was not getting into main draws of challengers, he was taking the hard route of going thru challenger qualies instead of futures and now when he is getting into main draws of challengers he prefers to play futures. :D

Sanam has an easy win in first round.

At $15K Canada F10 Futures, Toronto

[R1] (2) Sanam SINGH (IND,334) d. (Q) Dane WEBB (USA,NR) 63 61

Next he faces the same player who upset him last week in the QF. Hope he can turn the tables this week.

Sanam avenged his last week's loss and won in straight sets this time.

At $15K Canada F10 Futures, Toronto

[R2] (2) Sanam SINGH (IND,334) d. (Q) Nathan PASHA (USA,1252) 62 64

Next,

[QF] (2) Sanam SINGH (IND,334) vs. Justin S. SHANE (USA,854)

Shane who graduated from UVA too this year was a 2015 NCAA singles champion. So, this is quite a tough match for Sanam.

In theory this should be a tough match, but Shane has had minimal success on the futures tour through the summer, so hopefully a focused Sanam can win this easily.

It was Justin's brother, Ryan Shane who was the NCAA champion I think

Yes, that is correct. It was Ryan Shane. My mistake.

Hope Sanam come thru this match.

And he did come thru with an easy straight sets win.

At $15K Canada F10 Futures, Toronto

[QF] (2) Sanam SINGH (IND,334) d. Justin S. SHANE (USA,854) 63 61

Next,

[SF] (2) Sanam SINGH (IND,334) vs. Filip PELIWO (CAN,494)

Peliwo is a 21 year old former world no. 1 junior who initially came thru well on the pro tour reaching top 225 ranking but has fallen back a bit since last year.
