Ronit Bisht must be below 15 as he was one of twenty nine youngsters (11 to 14 years) from across the nation in the first batch of the IMG Reliance Scholarship for India Programme ... So from last September he is training at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Brandenton, Florida.

In fact , as per ITF records, Ronit just completed 15 years yesterday. He has not played any ITF junior tournaments since he went to NBTA. So, not sure how is progressing there. Hopefully, he will play some junior events soon.

Sahil Dehsmukh is added in the Asian team but not sure about Garvit Batra ... Sahil Dehsmukh is from Pune and coached by former Davis Cup player Sandeep Kirtane at Deccan Gymkhana.
These are the top 4 in the final standings in Asian under 14 among boys & girls .

Boys -
1. Sahil Deshmukh IND
2. Ku Keon Kang KOR
3. Zufan Zhou CHN
4. Garvit Batra IND

Girls -
1. Tami Grande INA
2. Arina Folts UZB
3. Quiyu YE CHN
4. Shehadevi Reddy IND

So, Sahil , Garvit & Sneha make the Asian under 14 team for Europe tour which will be good exposure.

Well - hey - Nagal vs Nadal. The media will have a field day with this if it ever happens.

I hope it does....we need a good singles player who can shoot up the ranks fast.

In the week before this American cup win by Sumit, him alongwith Sahil Deskhmukh participated in the Eddie Herr under 14 touurnament.

Sahil was in fact the top seed but lost in the first round. Sumit was the 6th seed & lost in the PQF. However, Sahil & Sumit were top seeds in doubles & went on to win the title at this prestigious event. Looks like a pair of promising 14 year old emerging . They will be also playing in the Orange Bowl under 14 tournament which starts in a couple of days.

Thanks, Ankit for those results.

Another Indian boy, Basil Khuma has come thru 4 rounds of qualifying & has also won 2 rounds with an upset 15th seed in first round.

[R1] (Q) Basil Khuma (IND) d. (15) Alex Molcan (SVK) 76(4) 75
[R2] (Q) Basil Khuma (IND) d. (WC) Jack Barber (USA) 63 26 44 retd.

Next,

[R3] Sumit Nagal (IND) v. (14) Domagoj Biljesko (HRV)
[R3] (Q) Basil Khuma (IND) v. Micehel Mimoh (USA)

Any idea which country HRV stands for here ?

Yes, Basil Khuma is from Mizoram & one of the trainees at NBTA as part Reliance-IMG course. I had put a video of him just one page back in this thread only. Good performance from him here winning 6 matches so far. He should be someone we should keep an eye on .

Sahil Deshmukh seems to have a bit of rough patch though after training in Florida. I have seen this happen many times for Indian kids who go to acadamies for short duration. Hopefully, he is just making few adjustments to his game & will come back well.

HRV is almost certainly Croatia. It is their ITU (telecom) and some other code but not IOC code. I do not know why it is being used in sports; perhaps for historic reasons.
