I'm happy to report that, in this instance, the "split" is temporary -- because DiPu weren't certain to get into the draw with their combined ranking.

If they had gone strictly by rankings at the time, Leander and not Purav should have been picked. Before the US Open, Leander was ranked higher. After the US Open, Purav edged up mainly because he partnered LP and won a round!
