Re: Leander Paes thread...
Etlis/Rodriguez are already through to the final, beating Knowles/Nestor 64 75. Additional incentive to quickly win the QF and SF. Bad scheduling there, though.

They really need to cook at either next week at Basel, or in the last event at the Paris Masters. Need at least another 250-400 points to be in the top eight. (there may be some one or two teams who may not show up at Houston though - hopefully).

Re: Leander Paes thread...
Tough task for LP/DR to qualify for Houston tournaments ... Becoz they r not seeded in remaining tournaments also, so chances r high they will face seeded duo in first round in next 2 tournaments also ... For qualifying for year end tournament, they have to win one of the remaining tournaments.

Re: Leander Paes thread...
Yeah, they are hurting now because Rikl has not played enough this year and his ranking is down below 20 .. Or they would have got seeded and could have done something in tersm of picking up at least the first couple of rounds points if not better. But, if they get into form, they can go deep without too much problem, like they did at the USO. It will have to happen at Basel and Paris on indoor carpet.

Re: Leander Paes thread...
It appears that Lee and Rikl have pulled out of Basel... Not sure why but that makes things quite difficult now.

Re: Leander Paes thread...
Leander is ill. He is at an undiclosed location in India at an undisclosed hotel, undergoing a bit of Ayurvedic treatment. It just so turned out that my sister is the resident engineer at that same hotel. How conveeenient for me to get the news.
I just talked to Lee. He was running some temperature at Vienna and was having body aches and all that. Probably the tempretaure difference at Vienna got to him, and he fell sick immediately after getting to Madrid. After the match he went back to India. Feeling better, but not fully 100%. He will decide in a couple of days if he will go to Paris.
