Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Superb win , at this rate surely he can last for couple of more years and even possibly win a GS title.
Next match against the serve monster Isner and the tactical Sock would be tough , Hoping for another upset win.

Even another olympics looks good now but for that another Indian player should enter top 50 at least by next year I suppose.

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Seriously good!!! Come on Bops, let us get that big title now!
Ebden has moved up to a career high #23 in live rankings now, and can move to #18 with a title. Bops stays at #13 after the SF but can move to #11 with a title. This is all great.

Rohan Bopanna becomes the oldest man to win an ATP 1000 Masters doubles title replacing Nestor who held the previous record.
Edit: Fixed an erroneous statement that Rohan was the oldest to win an ATP double title. (Thanks @vparam)

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Congrats to Bops. Suresh, Bops is the oldest to win a Masters 1000 tournament, but not the oldest to win an ATP doubles event.

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Quite amazing how Rohan has resurrected his career in last 2+ year. He was ranked outside top 40 at the start of 2022 and now here he is very close to top 10. And this at the age of 43.
I thought Leander was the one who was supreme in terms of longevity. But, at age 43 he was ranked only around 50. Bops has gone one better in those terms.

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Here comes Rohan singing oldies, goldies
"Be-Bops-A-Lula, " "Baby What I Say"
..
He got the action, he got the motion
Oh yeah, the boy can play
Dedication, devotion
Turning all the night time into the day
- Dire Straits, 1985
Go Bops! Yeah the old baby can still play. Congrats, man!

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
That's a handsome $218k prize money for Bops. He can organise his own ATP tournament with that

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
This is a nice article on Rohan talking about junior players from Kamesh-
Bopanna spends time with junior players before leaving for Europe
I hope he is someone who can nurture some Indian junior to some success. Something which Mahesh and Leander have failed to do. Mahesh at least tried in his early retirement days by part funding Sumit, Karman etc. But, Leander seems to have totally vanished from the tennis scene since he retired.
