At $25K ITF Women, Obidos,Portugal

[Q1] Nandini SHARMA (IND,NR) d. Anastazja ROSNOWSKA (GER,NR) 62 64

[Q2] Nandini SHARMA (IND,NR) d. (2) Irene BURILLO ESCORIHUELA (ESP,480) 76(5) 64

So, Nandini continues to pull of these upsets in Europe and I think win today was her best so far in terms of ranking of the opponent. Hope now she qualifies for the main draw.

[Q3] Nandini SHARMA (IND,NR) vs. (11) Dalila SPITERI (ITA,643)

Wow beating top 500 is an achievement in women's tennis in India. Baring few instances our girls haven't been able to put up a fight on the tour. Hence this win stands out.

I fail to not be impressed by Nandini's results. Kinda gruntled about her, for now :)

And another nice comeback win by Nandini to qualify for main draw. :D

At $25K ITF Women, Obidos,Portugal

[Q3] Nandini SHARMA (IND,NR) d. (11) Dalila SPITERI (ITA,643) 16 63 63

The way she is beating these players, she is clearly playing at least at 500-600 level at least if not better.

Yes, she is definitely a top-500 level right now. The main draw cut off here is 458. Nandini will have another tough challenge in facing a top-500 player unless she draws lower ranked WCs. :goodluck:

5 points in offer in addition to the 2 points that she gained so far (1 for Q and 1 for R1). And she does not play until Wednesday :goodluck:

Nandini Sharma is based with the Felner Tennis Academy and has played quite a few national tournaments in Portugal over the last year. Great to see a new (or unforeseen) player emerge on the horizon!

Based on what I read on the website, Joana Roda (Portugese national coach in the past) appears to be more closely involved with her

Instantly became an anti-fan of this Moez guy. Retiring at 5-2 in the third? That is totally unclassy, unless he was not even able to stand there to get 4 serves at him, or unable to hit 4 serves to the other side.

Jayesh Pungliya got the better of much higher ranked Moez Echargui, while Aryan Goveas went down fighting to 7th seed Frenchman Juan Sebastian Tatlot. The pair of Jayesh and Aryan also made the quarters after getting a W/O.

ITF $25K(+H) Nigeria Futures, Hard

[R1] Jayesh PUNGLIYA(IND,1094) beat (5)Moez ECHARGUI(TUN,504) 6-7(3) 6-3 5-2(retd.)

[R1] Aryan GOVEAS(IND,785) lost to (7)Juan Sebastian TATLOT(FRA,571) 3-6 3-6
Prajnesh is also playing these futures. So, I will create a new thread and try to move these posts there.
