Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
What happened to Nandini Sharma? She hasn't played anywhere since December, it seems? .... I guess there weren't too many places to go to, either.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
True, not too many tournaments to go to in first quarter of the year.
I checked on Felner academy, Portugal FB page and they mentioned that Nandini returned for training there in late January. I think good time to try to add something to the game at this time and return in 1-2 months when there are more tournaments around to play. I see these days most Indian players taking their off season break in Jan-Feb instead of Nov-Dec where they cannot do so due to challenger level events in India at that time.

Nandini is exploring possibility of playing in Italy or China. She wouldn't face issue from April onwards given that there are 18-20 events lined up near her academy stretching upto fag end of the season.

Nandini is not playing in the $25K Italy CH this week. She is on the entry list for a couple of $15K events in China starting next week.

Not sure why, but Nandini has withdrawn from both the $15K China tournaments.

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Update:
1. Nandini evidently hasn't played both of the $25K challengers in her second home - Portugal. Injury issues?
2. Mihika Yadav, 18, who is currently unranked, is seen in the qualifying entry list for a couple of $15K ITF tournaments in Israel starting this weekend. Her notable results in the Pro circuit include a $10K finals in 2016 and her best win so far is against the then 448 ranked Russian, Yana Sizikova in $25K Pune.

Yuval KEREN (ISR) 6-4 6-3 Mihika YADAV (IND)
Not a good start for Mihika losing to an unranked opponent who was only ranked in her 500s at the junior level. Better luck, next week!

Abhinav Sanjeev SHANMUGAM (IND,924) 3-6 7-5 2-6 [2] Alexios HALEBIAN (USA,694)
Great fight from Abhinav against a seeded player. Need to check if this kid is being backed up financially, might be one of our top future prospects.

I hope so too. What bad luck to get the second seed in the first round.
