^^^ Great info. I had forgotten about her. She was quite talented. Also didn't know about the Ambedker connection.

So, she's not a sadist. :-( Life is hard as a fledgling pro. The ITF/WTA/ATP should make housing and a meal allowance compulsory in all events. The tournaments can reduce the prize money. Maybe the top-tier ones such as challengers, etc. should have an UBI. All players get $2000 each in addition to housing+meals, say. Make the grand slams also have to host a certain number challengers, futures, etc. or pay for some number.

In keeping with the trend of losing after an upset, Prajwal Dev loses to Hajek. Why can't our players string together wins? :-(

Fighting win by Jennifer over Mara who was a junior quarter finalist at both French open and Wimbledon juniors this year.

At W15 Tunisia 42A, Monastir

[SF] Jennifer Luikham (IND,923) d. Mara Guth (GER,1172) 16 64 75

Jennifer saved 2 match points when Mara served at 5-4, 40-15 to break there and then saved a few breakpoints in next service game at 5-5 and then broken at 6-5.

Into her second ITF final.

Very tough match next up,

[F] Jennifer Luikham (IND,923) vs. Luksika Kumkhum (THA,1259)

Luksika is a former top 100 player who is just returning to circuit after a long lay off.

Luksika Kumkhum must be coming back from injury to have such a deceptively bad ranking. She was ranked #66 in the world in November 2018, and won last week's tournament without dropping a set (naturally). No disgrace for Jennifer Luikham to have lost to her in the final. This was an excellent run to the final by her.
