Manish lost 26 16 in the SF against Cengiz Aksu (TUR,1124) who seems in great form this week.

Still, a good week for Manish after quite some time.

At the Hong Kong M15 (Hard):

[R1] Dev Javia (IND,1174) l. (3) Jake Delaney (AUS,595), 26 67(4)
[R1] (PR) Adil Kalyanpur (IND,1217) l. Tomohiro Masabayashi (JPN,1031), 46 36
[R1] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,695) d. (Q) Credit Chaiyarin (THA,1494) 67(5) 64 31 RET.

No surprises. Not sure why SDPD had to huff and puff in this match. Anyway, he plays Daisuke Sumizawa (JPN,763) next.

Yuvan Nandal (IND,1374) was at the M15 in Koszalin, POL (Clay) as a Junior exempt, but lost to the 4th seed Pawel Juszczak (POL,567), 16 57 today. Jusszczak next plays Manas who qualified in and beat a wildcard.

(I know Yuvan has a thread, which was started rather prematurely by PKB when he won a top junior title, which was the biggest won in a few years by Indians. But we will use that thread after he wins a pro title, which I am sure Yuvan will, in due course of time. He is playing well, but has not been too lucky in his draws and has not managed to pull off some upsets like Aryan recently did... but then again, PKB started one for Manas too way too prematurely, and we have been using that thread, so maybe I should start using Yuvan's thread too)

Both lost in the SF.

At the ITF M15 in Hong Kong (Hard):
[SF] (6) S D Prajwal Dev (IND,695) l. (5) Ajeet Rai (NZL,624), 36 46

At the ITF M15 in Monastir, TUN (Hard):
[SF] Manish Sureshkumar (IND,935) l. (1) Kris Van Wyk (RSA,417), 36 36

Still good of Manish to make back to back SF after a long time. Should help his ranking a bit. He will be playing in Tunisia next week too.

Abhinav Sanjeev Shanmugam (IND,1597) was the 3rd seed in the qualies and made the main draw at the ITF M15 in Monastir, Tunisia (Hard) again this week with a 63 67(6) [10-4] win over a 11th seeded British guy. Our man hit 2 aces at 5-6 in the second and 4 in the STB to win it. He was actually up 5-2 in the TB but managed to lose from there, before firing all the aces in the STB. Abhinav faces the 6th seed Aziz Ouaka (TUN,716) in the R1. Manish Sureshkumar (IND,907) is in the main draw too, and faces Jack Loutit (NZL,889).

Four Indians are at the ITF M15 in Hillcrest, RSA (Hard) this week... Aryan Shah (IND,745) is the 3rd seed. It is so great to see him already as a top-4 seed in pro events! He is drawn against a qualifier, Charl Morgan (RSA,NR). Ishaque Eqbal (IND,813) is the 5th seed and plays qualifier James Beaven (GBR,ITF-1126). Parth Aggarwal (IND,1700) faces the 4th seed Luca Fantini (ITA,815) and Kabir Hans (IND,1254) runs into the 7th seed Jesse Flores (CRC,892).

What is with NZL guys and us these days? Manish lost 16 36... Just when I start to think he may be playing well again at at least a top-750 level, he loses like this :( .... Abhinav plays R1 on Wednesday (Wedesday update: Abhiav Shanmugam lost 57 46 to the 6th seed Aziz Ouakaa).

Manas Dhamne (IND,1214) and Yuvan Nandal (IND,1378) are at the ITF M15 in Koszalin, POL (Clay). Yuvan was a JR exempt entry and faces Patrick Zahraj (GER,769). Manas made the last direct entry to the main draw and plays Maciej Rajski (POL,1005).

Singles R1 are on Wednesday. Manas and Daniele Rapagnetta (ITA) just upset the top seeded Germans, Tim Ruehl/ Patrick Zahraj, 61 36 [10-8]... Yuvan is playing R1 doubles now with Sebastian Eriksson (SWE), against the 3rd seeded Greeks, the Sakellaridis brothers. Cool to see the two Indians playing with partners from the countries where they train.
