Jasjit Singh earned a special place in Indian tennis history, when (as part of the Davis Cup team that made the final in 1974) he beat Bob Giltinan of Australia 11-9 9-11 12-10 8-6 in the first rubber of the Eastern zonal final, to set up a terrific 3-2 triumph for India.
Otherwise, the biggest moment of Jasjit's pro career was to make the final of the Indian Open doubles in 1977 (after he and his partner became quite unpopular by beating that year's Wimbledon semifinalist pair, Vijay and Anand, in the first round!). The previous year, he beat Tom Gullikson at the Indian Open (and also beat Tom and Tim in the doubles!).
Although Jasjit often qualified into the Slams between 1973 and 1976, he never made it past R1. His best year on tour was probably 1973, when he frequently made R2 of ATP tour events, and had victories over Brian Gottfried, Victor Amaya, Ross Case, Bob Giltinan (again!) and Anand Amritraj, among others. Those enabled him to climb to his career-high ranking of 89 in 1974.

Jasjit's best Slam performance in singles was to make R2 -- at the 1969 US Open (when he was 21) and the 1975 Australian Open.
In 1973, he won a round each in doubles at the US Open and Wimbledon.
