Aryan is the highest UTR rated player left in the draw. This should be his title, if no fatigue or injury issues happen.

Observationally, have people found the UTR to be a better predictor (higher % correct predictions taking only the ranking into account, i.e., least "upsets") than the ATP/WTA ranks? Tx.

Definitely a better predictor than the ATP/WTA rankings, as we all observe, but I am not sure if anybody has tried to do some stats to establish it.

Of course, the metric is only as good as the algorithm that calculates it. Seemingly, it factors in who you beat as well as the recency of your results whereas the ATP ranking is strictly based on which round you reach (independent of who you beat) and also weighs results from 11 months ago exactly the same as the present, so you would expect the UTR to be a better predictor. I'm sure people who bet on tennis matches have looked into this and its possible the lines are set to account for the UTR rankings rather than just the ATP ranks....

Apparently. He was rated as high as 13.63 in June but dropped as he has lost a bunch of early matches in Spain Futures this summer.

Aryan lost the first set @2 but in the second leads 31 with a break , and serving to make it 41
Edit: from 4-2 up Aryan lost 3 games in a row to go down 45 and is in a danger of losing the match , how tough these futures can be as none of the matches can be taken for granted , his opponet is ranked # 1932
in the adjacent court Dev Javia is 1 set all but got broken in the first game of the decider
2 Gujarati's playing on the Circuit , never seen it happen in my life.

Yes, it is rare in any sport I think.
Both lost though. So, this time it did not happen as per UTR.
[QF] (4) Aryan Shah (IND,656) l. (Q) Amirkhamza Nasridinov (RUS,1932) 26 46
[QF] Dev Javia (IND,927) l. (Q) Aristarkh Safonov (RUS,1376) 16 62 26

Cricket is where you will find a bunch of them the Pujara's,the Mankads, the Patel"s and lot more to count and then you have these 2 Tennis guys plus and you also have a odd Ami Ghia Badminton, Kamlesh Mehta TT , the Gujarati National Champs.
Could be some more of them as the above just popped up from the memory.
